That emilia- impressive burrow. Mine never was interested in burrowing. I am surprised it hasn't caved in.

I had a somewhat similar situations with a H. chilense- such busy engineers.
Yeah I have no idea why she made it so tall. Maybe she thinks she's going to grow 😆.
It's always so interesting to see how differently members of a species can act. One of my C. elegans filled the two starter burrows I made with moss and sits out in the open all day. I almost never see the other one.
I want an H. chilense so bad lol. When I have more disposable income....

Accomplished a long overdue rehouse for this girl (juv. O.aureotibialis) today, it wasn't much complicated, as she was so pissed, that she entered the catch cup on her own (after I blocked her way back to her old burrow ofc).

The introduction to her new enclosure also went smoothly, I already placed some of her old webbing in the starter burrow, so she's feeling herself more secure in the new place.

Around last week or so also presented to my female X.intermedia sling a bigger tank, she couldn't care less about the environmental change, started feeding on a roach just minutes after the rehouse.

My lighter M.balfouri looks fresh and clean after a recent molt..

..and the H.pulchripes I got 3 months ago just busy being fabulous (as usual).

I’ve been doing this too with good results. The last one I did, she sat on her webbing that I’d placed a few inches from her hide in her new enclosure and didn’t move for several hours. Finally she ventured into the hide. Next time I’ll make sure it makes it all the way to the hide, lol.

Well, got the lion's share of my rehousing done. A lot of the big females decided this week was perfect to molt, so I need to wait a few weeks for them to harden and get a meal. I also had 5 new specimens arrive for a total of 23 animals getting rehoused this week, so busy, busy, busy.....

This is my hissing box of dirt that I've sacrificed roaches to once a week for the better part of a decade. Sometimes my offerings would be accepted, other times merely ignored. Little did I know the daughter of the old gods was biding her time, gaining strength to emerge again....

Today in the spider room I had one of my biggest surprises that I've had in this hobby...

Here's my gorgeous little female Harpactira cafreriana:

Here's her exuvia from the last molt when I confirmed her as female:

And her she is, a fresh MM...

He's beautiful, and I'm sure he'll be very useful to someone, but I was shocked. Those accessory organs did a masterful job of disguising themselves as spermathecae. I guess sometimes you see what you want to see instead of what is actually in front of you. The silly thing is the label on his enclosure had him marked as male from when I examine smaller molts... 😆🤣😅😢😭

3.5 year old female Avicularia variegata. It's hard to believe that's an Avicularia species and that she's not even stretched out or full grown.

The male Haploclastus devamatha previously pictured after a rehouse has settled in quite well. He has plenty of sturdy building materials, so I'm expecting a spectacular turret.

0.1 Poecilotheria subfusca LL. She ate this week, however her records indicate she should be going off food here shortly for a molt.

0.1 Aphonopelma sp Michoacan. This big female is a murder tank once she realizes food is involved, but is very mild mannered otherwise.

I wasn't going to say anything, but I feel so bummed out. I was planning on doing a breeding project like 2 years ago. I thought about it for a while and decided to get some B. klaasi - that was a bit over a year ago, I guess? Now I have one heavy premolt penultimate male. :( and my most healthy, biggest, best eating klaasi female is dead.

Although not mature, the immature male, and adult female drummed and wanted each other all the time. I really was convinced everything was going to take and I'd have lots of little babies spring time 2025. I guess bleeping not.

I had so much time and belief and prepping involved, I'm so disappointed. Unfortunately I don't have the money to get another female, even if I did, the odds of them not clicking is very high. Anyway I'm so disappointed today. Who even has a healthy 6in+ true adult klaasi. <rhetorical.

Well, she's freezer bound until next week. My lady knows someone at work that loves doing tarantula art and all that stuff. So I guess it's some sort of consolation that my T won't end up in the trash can.

Want to know whats happening in the spider room today? I'm having me some watered down waters today!

"...one drink to remember and another to forget." Grace is Gone, DMB.

Last photo I took of her, flash on.

I'm sorry for your loss. I had a male pass away before it matured a couple of months ago. I had him for about 8 years
