Yeah, completely unexpected:(
I'm guessing it may be an age thing. According to this site, Cyriocosmus live only five years or so. I have no idea how old this one is, or how many sacs she's laid (or if that even matters), so it's all just guesses. I'm keeping a few of her kids no matter what, so I guess I'll be able to see as they grow.
Good luck with yours!

Freshly molted female. Finally!
She molted hanging vertically on her web sideways overlooking her waterbowl. It appears she landed perfectly beside it. Phew!

I'm gonna give her a month of spring treatment, and then it's gonna be sexy time with the male. whoohoo!

Snake never wins with her :(
Maybe he has to do something crazy like turn off the console, use controller port 2, or something else.:}

looks like your p.metallica doing verywell :)
Yeah she is! I don't see her too often, but when I do, it's always nice.

Anyways, new Ts :D

I finally jumped on the versicolor bandwagon, thanks to Levi!

They're fearless too. When I opened up their jars to feed 'em yesterday, a few came out and jumped around my hand like it was tarzan movie set. I figured "nah, they're too spooked now to eat, guess I'll get 'em back in..." I used the tweezers with the leg still on it to shoo one in, and it just goes and grabs it!
That's what I like to see!

NOM.

Thanks fer lookin:)

Dumping a few shots

Male B. smithi, finally rehoused him.

It's gettign warmer, and my L. violaceopes has finally come out again, taking drinks.

A. avicularia, getting her figure back.

The C. fimbriatus molted (confirmed female... sorry Armando and Levi, I know you wanted males! haha) and had her first post-molt meal today.

Very Pretty lookin rosea. In the now in cherry flavor pic, the molted exo looks pissed.
Thanks! Yeah, you're right it does; Never noticed that before.

Here's how she looks like now.

I had a couple of brachy molts.
First, the tiny emilia who's hardly grown at all.

Then, the most-likely B. boehmei!
On her back:

Right after her molt:

And stretching:

Here are a couple of my burrowers:
H. lividum. She;s built an extension into her tunnel that reaches all the way to the top.

Also, just rehoused my other burrower, the P. lugardi.
In her new enclosure:

Here's what it looks like. Plenty of room to dig DEEP.

This is her just two hours later. Now that's quick! She's taken quite nicely to the predug burrow.

And, a GBB to go out on.

Thanks fer looking!

Yeah, I was planing to rehouse her too, to replace the dirt, but she excavated all her boli for the past year to make that extension, so problem solved.:)

So this past weekend, I've been pairing my GBBs. I've been keeping them both very humid for the past few weeks.

Unfortunately, the male's seems to be scared <poop>-less of her!
She drums and drums, but instead of inching closer with each solo, or even druming back, he'll slowly inch his way towards the exit.

She drums though, and if she's far away, she'll come to within a legspan of him and continue druming in place. Here, I made sure he couldn't turn around to run off (check out her scopula pad(?) tapping)!

She had him cornered.

You know what he did?
He turned slow-mo on, and crawled out up and over, and got away without her knowing. It took him almost half an hour.:wall:

Man I hope I can get these guys paired.
At least he's not eaten though, so that's a good start!
