    Cyriopagopus lividus bald abdomen

Many WC fossorials take quite some time to settle in. It took my lividus 3 months to settle and burrow after a rehouse, and she was CB. Some of my doriae have yet to burrow 2 months after coming in. I don’t think it’s cause for worry just yet.

What species are you keeping currently?

...I always had a smaller collection, more manageable to me this way, last year around spring however I was about to back off and sold my 0.1 C. lividus, 0.1 L.striatus and my two H. himalayana juvies eventually. Later became more open to the topic again, and purchased some newcomers (miranda...

    Cyriopagopus lividus bald abdomen

I see, thank you. Op also stated "young adult female" and "not mature yet" as well as having it only a month, but no information about where it came from or how they acquired it. In any case, my theory has been debunked.

    Cyriopagopus lividus bald abdomen

If its really an adult T as op stated, then it must be a gal since mature males look like this: https://arachnoboards.com/gallery/cyriopagopus-lividus-smith-1996-_7.62392/ or this

    Cyriopagopus lividus bald abdomen

Hello, I noticed that my young adult female Cyriopagopus lividus had a bald abdomen. Is this a sign of premolt or stress? I've had her for 1 month, she hasn't eaten but has dug a burrow about 6" deep. However, she spends a lot of time outside, often "stresscurl" in a corner. Should I be worried...

Which Ts are unusually common/cheap or unusually rare/expensive in the hobby where you live?

P Metallica is very expensive in USA but dirt cheap in Asia . Similar trends for different species . Europe has better prices we often get price gouging here I’ve seen lp slings $35 each !!!

What is a species that you have no interest in keeping?

A fossorial is just an arboreal that makes its own tree out of dirt... C. lividus sits up there a lot.

What is a species that you have no interest in keeping?

C lividus I’ve avoided but lack of urt hairs I’d definitely consider one . Despite their supposed ferociousness. Pet hole though ..

What is a species that you have no interest in keeping?

Alright, fair enough. I was making quite the jump there in your possible line of arguing, I admit lol. In any case, the things you value in a species are pretty far off from what I'm looking for so it's just a matter of opinion. I've kept a wide variety of spiders over the years and right now...

What is a species that you have no interest in keeping?

...stay out and about, fairly hardy, eat well, no medically significant venom, not super defensive etc. Almost none of the above applies to old world fossorials (like C lividus). It's not like you have to have a T with the personality of a cuddle bug parrot or C lividus and nothing in between.

    Im buying my First T

P metallica is fast and skittish and packs medically significant venom. I been keeping Ts for over 5 years and I wouldn't even consider getting one. Just get an avic avic or C versicolor. Old world Ts don't make good pets for the vast majority of people. Arboreal old world Ts make more sense...

Growth diary and photo thread for Ornithoctoninae sp. "Vietnam silver"

I find this super interesting and can’t wait to find out if they indeed turn out the sexes you are suspecting. Also hope more chime in with their experiences, too. These guys are definitely one on my list and I’m always eager to learn more.
