I'm at the point where I don't have a single T on the wishlist because I bought all the ones I was really interested in (NW terrestrials, primarily.) In a few years, maybe there will be new ones that pop up that look enticing. Can't rule that out, as they are still discovering new species.

It's interesting how things can change over time... and others don't. I'm still aiming for a reasonable cap of 10 species and the more I think of it, the more I'm inclined to just stick with the basic genera since they'd all be relatively easy to handle with little to no risk of escape.

Aphonopelma chalcodes
Aphonopelma hentzi
Brachypelma emilia
Brachypelma klaasi
Grammostola pulchra
Tliltocatl vagans

There we go. Call me boring if you want, but I must admit I love these "Pet Rocks". They're often quite beautiful, out and about and females have lengthy lifespans. All positives for me.

I’m pretty happy with what I have right now also. But I’m still addicted too getting more .. I have a definite wishlist those 10 I listed I don’t have any of . After removing 2 I was going to buy more of anyways .

Pet rocks yeah I don’t like that term , tarantulas are sit and wait ambush predators only males who wander actively hunt and leave a burrow right ?maybe a hungry female who’s burrow got destroyed would wander . It’s true they don’t move around alot even ow in my experience. I agreee these so called Pet rocks are some of my favorites also.

I've never heard of this, what genus is it from? What does it look like?
20230718_083415.jpg
0.1 Phormingochilus pennellhewlettorum

It's interesting to see my old future project list here from circa 2021 again and see how I've been checking boxes over these last 2+ years. Of the 66 species I listed out way back when, I've acquired 22 of them, but of course the list has changed a bit over the years as more species enter the hobby.

I still want a mature female Poecilotheria regalis. I had a chance at one, but the seller talked me out of it. He didn't think it would make a good first tarantula.

My full wishlist is less wishlist and more a "ah, to be wealthy with unlimited time and space and no obligations in life other than taking care of tarantulas"-list. But here's the realistic list of species I'm looking out for the most right now (excluding breeding projects):

Aphonopelma moderatum
Aphonopelma moorae
Cyriocosmus ritae
Davus sp. 'Panama'
Dolichothele rufoniger
Grammostola sp. 'Maul'
Homoeomma chilensis
Neischnocolus iquitos
Ornithoctoninae sp. 'Hon-sej'
Psalmopoeus emeraldus
Psalmopoeus langenbucheri
Psalmopoeus sp. Black Orchid
Theraphosinae sp. 'Mishana'

Adding OBT for when I'm brave enough to get one.

Davus pentaloris and Citharacanthus cyaneus as well!

I've actually checked off a number of my wishlist species in the year since I got back into the hobby, but I still have way too many left to go.

Already checked off the list, but definitely need to get more due to the need to ensure I have a female (all of these I could get easily or relatively easily once I get around to it)
- Acanthoscurria geniculata (my juvenile is a suspect male; plus, this species is just plain fun and cheap to get)
- Caribena versicolor
- Chromatopelma cyanopubescens
- Cyriopagopus schmidti
- C. albostriatum
- Haploclastus devamatha
- Idiothele mira
- Ornithoctonus sp. "Phan Cay" (my two subadults have been a ton of fun and have gorgeous purple hues, but I still have nightmares about them molting out as mature males...)
- Pelinobius muticus
- Phormingochilus everetti (this one is technically off the list as I have 2 slings coming tomorrow, but with the recent drama around it I've experienced it's worth mentioning)
- P. sp. "Ackaya"
- Phormictopus sp. "Dominican Purple"
- Poecilotheria metallica (will be taken off the list if my juvenile turns out to be female)
- P. regalis (again, my subadult is a suspect male)
- Tapiauchenius rasti

Could easily be checked off once I get around to it, it's just a matter of having the funds and housing space:
- Augacephalus junodi
- Chilobrachys fimbriatus
- C. sp. "Vietnamese Blue"
- Cyriopagopus longipes
- C. minax
- C. sp. "Big Black"
- Dolichothele diamentinensis
- Harpactira pulchripes
- H. cafreriana
- Lyrognathus giannisposatoi
- Monocentropus balfouri
- Orphnaceous philippinus
- O. sp. "Negros"
- O. sp. "Quezon Blue"
- Selenocosmiinae sp Palawan Blonde
- Selenobrachys sp Romblon Pink
- Pachistopelma bromelicola
- More Phormictopus
- Phormingochilus sp. "Sabah Blue"
- P. pennelhewletti
- Poecilotheria formosa
- P. rufilata
- P. subfusca
- Psalmopoeus cambridgei
- Any Theraphosa (at least one of the three ought to be available at any given point)
- Typochlaena seladonia (the price, and the difficulty, are the two big issues it's not already in my collection)
- Various Tapiauchenius, Amazonius, etc.
- Ybyrapora diversipes

Would take a lot of legwork to check off
- Brachypelma boehmi (Brachypelma in general are available only through private sales over here in Korea)
- B. emiliae
- B. hamorii
- Ornithoctoninae sp. "Ho Chi Minh"
- Ornithoctoninae sp. "Sumatran Tiger"
- Ornithoctoninae sp. "Valhalla" (these are actually loose in the Korean trade at the moment, but given the history of how cheap rare ornithoctonines tend to become here, I'm biding my time)
- Phormictopus sp. "Blue Azul"
- Ybyrapora sooterama

"The Impossibles"
- Augacephalus breyeri
- Cyriopagopus doriae
- Encyocratella olivacea
- Homoeomma chiliensis
- Hysterocrates sp. "Niger Delta" or any other pure Hysterocrates (hybrids are a dime a dozen here but why even bother?)
- Orphnaeous dichromatus
- Phormingochilus sp. "Sabah Red"
- Stromatopelma cf satanas

I also have a bucket list for centipedes, such as true Scolopendra gigantea (they're actually available in Korea RIGHT NOW and are likely to remain so for some time, but the price tag is the concern even if it's much lower than it had been in past years), S. paradoxa (same story), etc.

I don't want a ton of tarantulas like many keepers do, and happily I have almost all of the species that I care about:

T blondi
T apophysis
G pulchra
A geniculata
L parahybana
G iheringi
B albiceps
B emilia
B klaasi
T albopilosus
P atrichomatus
T vagans

I still want:
GBB
T stirmi (maybe)
M balfouri (maybe)
T schroederi
X immanis or intermedia

So all in all, I only care about 15 - 20 species.. out of thousands.. and I already have the vast majority of them luckily.
