dang, you guys are doing all kinds of cool stuff!
we made a yahoo group that i think we are going to like, transition to a full free forum eventually. i was thinkign about a website too, once we get enough content from the yahoo group or forum.
actually, originally i was thinking about doing a forum for SoCal bug stuff... but what do you folks think about joining up and having one BIG forum for all of the Cali bug lovers?
also, i am a programmer and generalist geek so if you ever needed help with something don't hestitate to shoot me an email or something

I found a cheap host that looks pretty good. It's at websitespot.com. I don't mind paying for hosting at that price. I'll look into the forum too. I think that's free. I would like to have a gallery where people can just upload stuff kind of like arachnoboards gallery. Will have to check that out also. I found a neat flash gallery that will work for now but you will need to send me your pics.
And I do need pics still! So send em over

for the forum i was kind of thinking of having a section for each of the major types of bugs:
tarantula/myg's
other spiders
other arachnids
myriapoda
insects
where people could post about, er, local stuff they have found or read about or are curious about etc.
i was thinking that a sub forum with a couple sub sub forums for various aspects of locales might be nice... but we might want to consider having that part members only or something, as i am slightly leary of posting enough info for some random person to go hit spots that are "mine"
sub forum for local events would be cool. a calendar function would be totally necesary.
anyhow, my computer at home is broken and i don't want to do *that* much bug stuff at work so i will not be able to work on anything for a little while... but i will try to come up with a first draft for the forum
oh, i see something about needing pics? i am not an artist or photog or whatever... but if you want to use anything from my photobucket feel free

You know Andrew that's not a bad idea. We can even have a site for all california bug lovers and then have some space made especially for the BATS and the SCABIES for future members that want to paticipate in hunts or other activities. I'm really liking this idea and am willing to make some donations if necesary.

I registered our domain name sfbats.org. I'll put the website up once the hosting place is done processing my info. Should be sometime today hopefully!
The website doesn't have any content yet and I will have different pictures for each page along with our logo when it's done.
I'm going to play around with the flash gallery today and see if it will work for us. We could have one on the forum too for people to just upload stuff. Who wants to set up the forum? I can if nobody wants too. I think forums are free to set up.
And keep sending me those pics! We need lots more for the site.

John is formulating an email list and is getting a T-shirt prototype made for us to look at.
Matt, can you help John with t-shirt design possiblities and contacting EBV for a breeding demo or a presentation of sorts?
Brian will give us the info on October Mt. Diablo hikes/hunt when he get back from S.D.Ca.
Keaton(Okitasoshi), can you help with making a Sept.meeting flyer for us to distribute to our local pet shops? Make a flyer and send us a file so we can copy and distribute.We still need to confirm the date before finishing the flyer.
I'll work on organizing the meeting and coordinating what everyone else is doing.If you need help please ask me and I find someone to assist you .
