anyone? :( I'm looking forward to read the answer to Terri's question too.

now I think I'm more confused :( so weather can actually determine the color on some tarantulas? what has been the pattern then? brighter colors warmer climates and darker for colder?

i was thinking p. metallicas could only be found in a certain area so does this means the darker form can only be found in another area? :? if yes, then how can you know it's not another poec. species or a sub one.? if no and found among the blue ones too, then how can we be certain it's not a hybrid.

someone please, I'd like to learn how this works :8o
Like i said before i know and trust the person who collected them i have 5 wc female all was found in the same area i have 1 black female that was found in a tree on a few meters away from a blue one i have and every female he found all vary in colour dont forget where not use to seeing bark blue or these black females because the people who collect them keep them for them selfs for breeding i have spoke to a few people who have been to the area where these was from and they all say the same thing all 3 colour form of p metallica all share the same habitat

gorgeous p. metallica but I'm a bit confused about how the dark forms originates. how do you guys know it's not a subspecies, hybrid or another poec. sp.? if the sp. was WC how can you be so sure it's still a pure p. metallica? looks to be the opposite though :?

sorry for the silly question if it has been discussed before, I'm new to the hobby :)
I'm new to t's also but I know many species of scorpions, lizards and snakes have several very distinct color "morphs" in the species. Many of them will be present in a single egg clutch/birthing.

Wow, those are beautiful! It will be interesting to see how the offspring turn out. My bet is 3:1 blue:black. Just like peas...

Good call on the not selling... Thats like opening a whole can of worms that just shouldn't be opened. :) But oh boy do I want one!

It makes me wonder how much the black color morphs would go for in the trade? As blues go for a lot, I could easily see the black going for 1.5 to 2 times that of the blue.

Good luck! I can't wait to see the results!

Beautiful color... now molted 5 or 6 times this year? How big was it when you got it? About how big is it now? I heard they grew a bit more slowly than other pokies.

Very nice Chris. Are you going to mate this one or what? If you don't, we're going to have to have a serious talk. lol ;)

Hopefully Christopher and I can match our P. metallica up, if his is male hopefully my larger one is female, or if his is female, hopefully one of mine is male!

It's funny because I have a sibling of the one that Christopher has and mine is still very small, maybe 1.5" or so. That's a very huge difference in growth rates. Although I'm convinced that he feeds his steroids lol!:D
