In a continuation of "irminia day" in the spider room, today featured the dispensing of crickets.

MM "Spunk" was absolutely delighted to encounter the first cricket he's seen in like four months:
Though I accidentally let the lid snick shut too loudly and he had to be all small for a bit, even with his snack...

Meanwhile, MF "Irma" engaged her dinner with the customary level of drama:

Definitely a Primo Don... No, no, don't trouble yourself actually taking the trash OUT, just leave it there and go have a luxurious stretch in your tube...

Dude knows exactly how beautiful he is.

Meanwhile, next door, in Legsville, closest suburb of Legopolis, Spunk was showing off his new size.

Should've named him Legolas 🤣 or I guess Legolad......

C. versicolor "Blue" giving us a little peek at his shiny, freshly-molted colors, none of which are blue anymore:

C. versicolor "Blue" let me sneak the lid open for a first look at his post-molt colors without the acrylic in the way.

Prettyboy is pretty. 🥰

A. purpurea "T" also decided to hang out on her tree for a bit looking lovely, if not nearly as fresh.
1000012359.jpg

P. irminia "Spunk" was, uh, looking for love on the ceiling...

Caught a few nice shots of his fancy hooks too.

1000012281.jpg

P. irminia "Irma" remained calmly hugging her tree with her glorious toes.

G. pulchra "Lava" is...I dunno, threatening to finally throw some dirt in her water dish?

Yeah, where ya gonna put that, girl?

Ok, so clearly, I need to be more careful, but I apparently breathed on Spunk's enclosure again:

He wasn't nearly as invested in it as he looks in the still photo though...

This time, I was so audacious as to touch the lid -- so I could open it, to feed this poor starving man who pounced on some water drops like he's never been fed before.

As usual, he was deeply invested in it...

He did finally notice there was a cricket, but rest assured, The Derp is strong with this one.

Given what I read of average mature male behavior, I'm honestly glad he's eating ♥ my kiddo will be crushed when Spunk's time is up.

(Clearly, I'll have to take big kid back to the store to pick a new sling lol.)

Hopefully seen as he is eating it won't be for a while yet 🤞🤞🤞
I hope. His maturing molt was October 29. I really don't know what to expect but I'm hoping he'll make it to the end of 2024 with us. It makes me sad to see him sliding down the acrylic and falling as his poor little toes wear out though.

Awww bless him 😔 . I asked and males live about a year once mature so hopefully you will have some months left yet its good he is still eating though its 99% of the battle with mm.

My SO suggested more bark ect, when the males start slipping he says he adds cork n sticks extra vines ect so the males have better stuff to grip so it helps with the sliding and fallin, it may help with spunk 😊

I was going to state it’s good he’s still eating. Yours and mine matured pretty close to the same time. I’m struggling with getting mine to eat very much. @Charliemum Ill use that cork advise to. Thank you.

My girl’s been buried underground with the door shut off and on for a month or so now. Luckily, she dug her large, underground chamber right up against the glass, so I can monitor her easily. She’s just hanging out. No molting, no sack laying. I put his enclosure up against hers to see if his tapping drew a response, but no. Sorry man, I think she’s too young for you.
Your lady there is stunning!!
