It's official: C. versicolor "Blue" has been observed with all eight feet definitively outside its webbing! ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿฅฐ๐Ÿฅฐ
PXL_20230727_062022082.jpg
Can't get over that floof ๐Ÿ˜

Zoomed out for context:

C. versicolor "Blue" goes exploring again...
PXL_20230730_074822760.jpg
...then notices the camera phone and scrambles off to "hide".
PXL_20230730_075147780.jpg

P. irminia "Spunk" gets a new water dish
PXL_20230730_080735985.jpg
(Also hides much better than Blue does)

G. pulchra "Lava" doesn't even let her mealworm hit the dirt, because I am starving her to death (and also, don't touch my water dish, human)

A. purpurea "Baby T" begs for a cricket...
PXL_20230730_075305114.jpg
...then spends seven minutes waiting for it to walk a quarter inch ๐Ÿ™„

C. versicolor "Blue" here again.

Not only did it make it all the way to the top of the bin, but it stoically stood there while I carefully snuck the lid open and got the macro lens out:

Feels like it's finally comfortable in its "forever" enclosure.

P. irminia "Irma" still being a bit of a shy hunter post-molt, but getting slightly more confident and showing off her beautiful toes in her various "waiting for cricket" poses.

C. versicolor "Blue": Always remember -- when climbing you should keep one point of contact with the walls at all times.
PXL_20230813_155949910.jpg

A. purpurea "T (suspect Mister)": Sure thing boss, I got it!
PXL_20230813_160000041.jpg

G. pulchra "Lava": g-- d--- skinny acrobatic arboreals and all their climbing space...so un-majestic ๐Ÿ™„

Well, C. versicolor "Blue" is clearly eating well:
PXL_20230818_061945818.jpg

Also trying to challenge Irma for the title of Prima Donna, except that I'm about 95% sure Blue is actually a Primo Don โ™‚

Then, of course, we have our Prima Derpa...

C. versicolor "Blue" could've sworn there was a cricket on this leaf just a second ago, but now would just like to know how to get off this ride...

There is a fine line between "grooming" and "preening"...
PXL_20231001_135128122.jpg
This... Is nowhere near that line, it's firmly on the "preening" side.

Spidey see, Spidey do...

C. versicolor "Blue" hanging out on the back wall:

G. pulchra "Lava" hanging out on HER back wall:
PXL_20231010_073552031.jpg
... with one foot in the water dish, of course.

P. irminia "Irma" was just waiting for cricket all day, with varying levels of sass:

Brat.

Meanwhile, my other P. irminia "Spunk" has been in "do not disturb" mode for a couple weeks now, and has finally worked out the proper use of that extra water dish it webbed into its front porch.

A. purpurea, now confirmed female, out and looking lovely today.
1000011833.jpg
Toes and all!
1000011836.jpg

The loveliest toes in the spider room, however, were (nearly) out on a hunt last night.
PXL_20240109_062012040.jpg

Meanwhile, C. versicolor has, after a prolonged renovation, apparently built a super cozy loft.
1000011550.jpg
At least this time it won't be a stealth molt. He's got a side window AND a skylight.
1000011818.jpg
Good thing I can give him water via the vent holes... That way he can keep his loft until he molts.

Congratulations on your female! That's great news ! N must be versicolor decorating season my little male Itsy Bitsy has just made a new web after moulting too except he chose to make a basement apartment instead of penthouse , stretches right across the front of his viv but on the floor ๐Ÿ™„ I have told him he is arboreal but he said no ๐Ÿ˜† versicolor are such strange t's ๐Ÿ˜‚

That's more or less what my A. purpurea did, except it's across the back under the bark, AND she webbed up the walls so hard you almost can't see in. Well, fine then, princess. You'll get fed when you come out and I can see that you aren't too chonk already! (Actually I still desperately need to rehouse her into her adult enclosure, I just haven't had the time to set it up yet.)

Wow she does like to web ๐Ÿ˜† my Psalmopoeus pulcher does that too ๐Ÿ˜† I put a back board on the outside of her viv when I moved her into her adult viv a few months ago, it actually helped. She still webbed but because the board was dark on the back she didn't bother webbing the glass much just to attach her web so I have a window through all of her web tunnels now, maybe try it when you move your girl ? My board is held on with some velcro so I can remove it to check on Puddin it's literally just a bit of cardboard I cut to size and painted , I have even used the same trick with black card and blutack on smaller vivs so you can literally do it on any budget ๐Ÿ˜Š
I sew and get alot of amazon delivery's so card n velcro was what I had and i just painted it with some acrylic paint i had from other projects so cost nothing, don't even have to paint it I just painted a dark jungle seen so I didn't have to look at the brown cardboard ๐Ÿ˜† might help though ๐Ÿ˜Š

She definitely has since she moved up from the deli cup!
1000011831.jpg

The new enclosure I have for her has a sliding front opening, and it's a little funny dimensions but should be ok. I think it's like 7x10x14 or something...I can try the cardboard trick or even giving her a spot closer to the wall might help in a pinch. I think also more leaf cover up top when I don't have to mess with a top-opening enclosure will help. She was still a sling when she moved into the current enclosure, and I didn't put as much cover in as I could've because I wanted to be able to monitor feeders. That part has been pretty helpful.

I wouldn't trust any of my arboreal with a front opening viv, probably just end up wearing one of them knowing my luck ๐Ÿ˜†
I always put less decor in a juvinile or sling pot but more in the adults because I know my t is going behind the cork (except itsy but he is special bless him) so I put lots of decor in so when they do enviably disappear behind the bark I still have something to look at but not until they are in the adult viv .I find before that even if I do make the effort with plants ect they just pull them out anyways but most of my arboreal are psalmopoeus so probably more to do with genus as my avics don't destroy plants just web everything and usually to the lid completely ignoring cork or plants ๐Ÿ˜†

I didn't use a background on my irminia's adult viv but she got corktubes not a half a round and honestly I think it's the way to go in my future arboreal vivs she settled so quickly and although she's hidden I know she's happy so it's worth the trade.
I have to get my son to school but soon as I come back will get pics n tag you so you can see n maybe get some ideas ๐Ÿ˜Š
