this sista taste good
I hope they were just unfertilized eggs. But yeah, I've noticed a lot of cannibalism with this sac.
All the black spots you see was an eaten egg. GBBs are great eaters straight out of the egg!

They've been eating all the late bloomers.

Here's some teaming up on one.

Ironically, most of the ones who cannibalized molted two days later than the rest. They are larger than their siblings though.

I'm not one to count my instars before they molt, but if all goes well, they'll def. be up for grabs!

Me neither! Shouldn't be too long now, they've all molted into first instar.

Speaking of molting...

The male P. metallica has molted... but isn't mature yet. His last molt was eight months ago, so I'm going to guess he'll be mature in about a years time... if he's penultimate!

He's now 5" (he's a little bit scrunched here).

If it wasn't for that triangle of epiandrous fusillae,
or the absence of any spermathecae and uterus externus in the molt,

He'd have me fooled! He has quite the pair of epigastic furrow lips. haha.

He left a good molt behind though.

The H. lividum, feeling bold and staying put when I opened up her enclosure.

Nom.

The Holothele sp. "Columbia" have molted sometime in the past two weeks, which explains why only a couple came out last week for eating. This time though, they were all waiting at their burrow entrances... and even running out to catch some crickets.

On his way back, he roused his neighbor, who very shortly caught something himself.

Thanks Levi. Yeah, you never really see any CB of these guys. I wanna grow one (or several, hopefully haha) up!

Thanks. She's just like that sometimes. Usually the slightest disturbance sends her down the hole. I guess she was hungry.
And yeah, I didn't expect to see a sac, let alone viable offspring. Beginners luck, I guess. hahah.

Yeah, same here. This and the following is the first I've seen her after I got her. She molted down there as well.

Shot of my communal

Newly molted P. irminia female, now officially two molts ahead of her brothers. She's about 5+" now.

C. cyaneopubescens, enjoying a meal.

Couple shots of the first instars, the sling colors just barely visible. They should start molting in no time!

The babies are the cutest little wonders of nature, aren't they?
In other news, you've just made me add a GBB and L. difficilis to my "OMG I TOTALLY NEED THIS!!!" list :)

Thanks!
This one's still really friendly. Doesn't mind in the least to be picked up for a rehouse. Dropped a cricket in a few minutes later just to see, and cricket was taken. Clearly, it was a non-issue for the spider (not so much for the cricket!).

Any time now....

I'm going to guess maybe in another one or two weeks time. You want some? hahah

Glad I could help:)

Anyway, after two years, one of the irminia boys finally hooked out. Gained a ton of size, from like 3.7" to 5+".
From second instar, it took him seven molts to mature.
This is the best pic I can get right now, but he looks really good.

Hoping to see more of him after he starts wandering.

Went to a local show today, and picked up some newcomers!

M. robustum female

C. fasciatum (finally!)

...and a G. rosea sling!

And some pics of the vets:

N. chromatus, out finally after a molt.

C. fmbriatus, also freshly molted.

And GBB sling, nearing a molt? Hurry up!
