Congrat's.... glad to see your breeding was a success! and they have molted.... Simply amazing!!! good luck and have fun raising them....
Now i know who i can grab some c perezmiles slings from...

Peace!!!
Thanks man! I'll def let you know when they're good to go... though I might be holding them through the cold season, both for shipping (I've never shipped before, kinda don't want to muck about with heat packs for my first try) and that I might want them to molt to a bigger size. It wasn't a complete success though... a lot of the ~160 eggs/EWLs that I started out with were either eaten or never hatched. It was expected though... a good number of eggs were caked on to one side of the sac with what looked like dried whatever-the-eggs-are-swimming-in-when-they're-layed. Coincedentally most of those eggs never did hatch :(

Thanks. She is isn't she? I'm lucky to have her.
And what?! You don't know about the meow mix song from their commercials? For shame!:embarrassed: {D

Anyway, a few more pics.

My A. avic lady finally accepted the advances of my male.
He had to chase her down and literally grab hold of her before she let him do his business. Pretty good for an old man (He is at least 5 months mature)!
It's not the best picture... her enclosure isn't actually designed for pictures...
but I assure you that mess of legs is 2 avics mating!

Hopefully he's still good... though if he's wily enough to catch and rape a running female he should still be potent!

And a close up of the 1st instars. Almost all the post embryos (except 2 late bloomers apparently) have molted. I've counted about 88 in total. They're all crawling around like idiots! d'aww...

It's been a while, so I figured I'd throw a couple of shots up.

First, my MM A. avicularia. I'm starting to really like him. He's finally gotten lucky a couple of times with my female (who still runs like hell away from him like he's got the plague, but quickly submits when he so much as gets one leg on her... I wonder if I sexed her wrong... haha), and has started to build sperm webs more often.
You can see him making that special patch with his epiandrous fusillae. Very neat.

If you look closely you can see the drop of sperm on that patch he wove.

And then, he spent almost an hour poking at it, loading his palps.

All this work makes him thirsty. KISSU!

Meanwhile, I've rehoused the female, as someone bought me one of them new "exo terra nano" enclosures. Pretty spiffy!

The new metallica is doing good, and has adopted the cork hollow as a burrow. I haven't seen her in a long time :( Glad she's happy though!
This is a few days after getting her...

Nowadays, I'm lucky if I see this!

B. boehmei's doign good too, I caught her drinking again!

My irminia males have finally molted and are the same size as the female again (who herself just entered premolt). They're pretty mean, and start rearing up when I get close to their enclosures and slowly threat-pose backwards into their tube webs.

The female poking out. Now the hole is sealed shut! overexposed!

Also, my N. chromatus molted about a month early from last years molt.
Same sequence too. Webbing herself in...

On her back (also looks like she didn't bother webbing the whole thing off like last time).

And brilliantly red abdomen when done!

Of course, the extensive cleaning of her new legs afterward.

And finally, the C. perezmilesi slings...
I've had about five up and die for seemingly no reason, but the rest are getting darker, and noticeably walking and climbing around a lot more. I wish they'd hurry up and molt already!

Thanks for looking!

More pics!

P. irminia drinking

Nice shot of my A. avicularia in her new tank

H. lividum went out for a stroll, and didn't run when I opened the lid!

P. cancerides eating

...and finally, the C. perezmilesi have started to molt into 2nd instar!

Freshly molted 2nd instar on the right, 1st instar in heavy premolt in the middle, and one of many seemingly late bloomers directly underneath and all around (some of these have molted without darkening at all:?).

Hobo, Nice bum on the N chromatus- colorful! The new P. met'll be making other newer P met soon- lets hope, huh? ;) Congrat on all the new Cyriocosmus babies. The irminia drinking shot is epic- reminds me of a giraffe with legs splayed at an african waterhole. :)

Hehe thanks, There's still a few that haven't molted yet. And yeah, giraffe was the first thing that came to mind too!:)

Summore!

Mama perezmilesi, gaining her figure back.

X. immanis molted, and still missing her spinneret :( I guess she was born that way.

N. chromatus, with her darkening carapace.

C. perezmilesi sling, eating a quarter of a small crickets jumping leg.

C. fimbriatus, needing a rehouse sometime soon!

Male GBB's home.

H. lividum, eating in her burrow.

...and P. cancerides, looking beautiful and pinkish.

No, you'll jinx it!!
Besides, Armando already has dibs if he's male. He could always make a rountrip though... I mean no she won't cause it'll be female!

Amazing pics and spiders as always Hobo!:worship:
Hah thanks!

Summore then!

New additions:
Finally, I can say I own a REAL OBT, coutesy of Sean. She's gotten shy since she's moved in, and I've only caught her out two times since I've got her. These are the best shots so far :(. She's a looker, and mean if her unpacking was any indication. Hopefully she'll remember that and start coming out more.

Next up, a very tiny B. emilia sling, no more than 1/2" I would say.

And this next one is sorta a new addition... I actually traded my male looking P. sp. antinous for this very female looking P.sp. antinous. She's pretty much the same size and even has a very similar injury to my first one (on the same leg and segment too!), so I've just named it the same (Queen Kong) and acting like nothing's happened!

Here's her similar injury.

And some random shots!
A. avicularia, eating on her branch

C. perezmilesi sling, tackling a cricket leg

P. lugardi, brushing her teeth over the sink

And a freshly molted B. smithi male!

Let me know when you're in town next and I can get you some (I keep odd hours though!)! The good thing about these guys is that even if you are stuck with a ton of 'em, they don't each much or take up a lot of space. So I don't mind hanging on to 'em until better shipping weather.
