As we both agree'd it looked as to be the "silver back" of the T's , so i named in " KONG " {D {D

Was I surprised! I think it might be male because of it's "fast" (for a Grammostola) molting and growth rate, unfortunately, but I still love "him"!!!

The first picture is before the molt, and the second is how "he" looks now.

Don't sweat it. You still have a quality spider that will be with you for a while. :)

Very nice. I like deep black color. My male is getting close to the molt and
he is not so sharp looking. Female molted month ago and looks just like your
boy. She is over 3" now.
Smok.

I wouldn't really be disappointed if I had a male pulchra. They are kinda rare... well at least where I live. :) Think of all the baby pulchras you can make now. ;)

I've had the little one since...maybe end of August, early September? (Bad at keeping track of time!). This is only it's second molt with me. He is about 1.25-1.5". Everyone's right, I will have a good 3 years or so with him left, and I am sure as heck going to find him a female (or two or three, if possible) to breed with. The sling's "dad" is already planning on getting a female that will be at her mature breeding size by the time he's ready to breed. :D And thanks for all the compliments on the little guy!

Beautiful

Mines about 1.5" and still not showing its colors. It's got a very black abdomen, but still looks like your premolt pic. I am hoping that mine will look like yours after its next molt. I love this species.

Hey "mom" we got him August 3rd 2005

Thanks hon.

Also, thank you all for the compliments on my baby. I can honestly say I never expected to become so attached to something I once feared more than crickets (and I'm terrified of crickets), and it does a girl's heart proud to hear her "baby" praised! :D

I set a 45 watt red heat lamp next to her tank to warm the B. laterallis enclosure below.

She has spent the last week hugging that wall, several days of which she was practically on her side with her tummy pressed against the glass.

It looks like tonite her booty is cold... I also suspect an early stage of premolt, as she was eating like a horse and now she's skiddish and rejecting crickets.
