I have an adult female that gave me a nice eggsac last summer. Unfortunately, only a small number of the eggs developed. They do seem to grow slowly, I kept 7 of the slings, and they are still under 2" each.

These are very nice Avics indeed!

Here's my female A. huriana.

Does anyone else have more pictures of A. huriana? I'd love to see more! :)

I have two sold to me as huriana's, the first one is but the second one I am thinking is not but may instead be a urtican? Greg

Ok, I'm certainly no expert, but that second pic looks like a versicolor to me.

That's probably not a versicolor, imho. They do not have pink toes like that one pictured and usually have darker legs at the time when they develop reddish abdominal hairs.

Definitely not a versicolor, this T is around 3" and looks nothing like a versi at this stage plus I got it at 1" and was not blue. I have my fair share of experience with avics but have not had or ever seen a urtican so my guess there is just going by pictures I have seen and descriptions I have read, does have similar characteristics of a Avic. avic. but also has some differences too so it could just be a Avic avic but I really don't think it is, I think another molt or two things will start to clear up, I hope!!! Avics :wall: Greg

Greg, not urticans either. My adult female looked NOTHING like that one. No red hair at all, lots of bronzish/olive tones. She's dead now, but if I can dig up pics for you I'll post them.

It looks to me very much like an A. avicularia. But if it's 3" and still has that much of "tiger rump" markings, then i'm not sure. Definitely not A. urticans either, those look more like A. huriana, i.e. more grown/grey etc. I'd agree about waiting for another couple molts to see how things go.

Greg I think it's just an A. avicularia complex. I wouldn't be surprised if the abdominal markings are gone with the next molt. Do you have any reason to think it's not?

Oh, BTW, Apocalypstick the spider in the link you referenced on the previous page is surely not an A. huriana.
