Evan and I sent some pre-molt pics to Rick West and here's what he had to say:
"My best guess from similar specimens I've seen of this is that
its from Central America (Honduras) and is an undetermined
Aphonopelma sp. similar to Aphonopelma seemanni but less striped)
that is periodically on the pet trade for sale. This is a
faded specimen that after molting will be dark gun-metal grey
with thin yellow stripes after its next molt."

I've sent him the post molt pics, waiting for a response.

FaciatumFan, if you're sure yours is female we should talk when our boy has his mature molt =)

Thanks to everyone for responding. One of us will let you know what Rick's final verdict is when I hear from him.

Rick West's follow up

Wow, he's fast! Just got a response on the new pics:

"Thanks for the images. As stated before this specimen can only be known as an Aphonopelma sp. at this time. Although it is 'similar' to Aph. seemanni, you will see from my Photo Archive image of that species that it is totally different in appearance. I have seen this species and the genitalia and habitat range are totally different from Aph. seemanni."

Are you certain that that is A. seemani? Are the stripes actually golden or is that just the flash?

I just picked up this Aphonopelma seemani a few days ago.
Shes been acting weird though, at the pet store she was dropped pretty good in her little keeper.
So hopefully shes alright, but they said i could bring her back.
But she hasnt started burrowing&she hasnt eaten yet.

I would recommend getting rid of the water gel and replacing it with clean fresh water. The water gel is not recommended for tarantulas.
It might take her some time to get settled into her new enclosure.
