Hi! What cam are You using? BTW it don't look like seemanni to me. Or is it a colour variation?

I am using the Canon Digital EOS Rebel with the sucky lens that came with it. It's doing ok for macro.

The T is definatley a A. seemanni. It used to be lighter in color from what I am told. Just recently with the maturing molt it darkened.

What a handsome stud! :}

I actually didn't even know that the males change so drastically after their ultimate molt. :eek:

Great pictures, Chris - and I hope you get a ton of babies from him and your girls. :)

That sure looks a lot like my "little girl", who was caught in prime chalcodes territory. I took her to someone with a lot of field experience her in AZ, but he said that she doesn't have any adult colors as of yet.

I posted a recent picture of her here on AB a few days ago - in Tarantula Pictures under "More of Rick's Pics".

They are AWESOME tarantulas. Mine is becoming very social. She is the only non-sling T that will willingly walk onto a hand without any prodding. :)

A. bicoloratum

This girl had not molted for 2 years until this past weekend... she hadn't eaten for ~10 months! Good ole Aphonopelma for ya! Her colors are nice and bright after the molt... HERE she is in January with more subdued colors.

Freshly molted female Aphonopelma bicoloratum

That name would be A.burica i think, it's probally A.seemani but burica is almost identical (only a much shorter leg III to carapace then A.seemani is all i know).
