Very nice! I agree, moderatum is the best looking US specie, if not the best looking Aphonopelma too. Nice new addition.

I am impressed. I had one of those a long time ago, but it didn't make it to adulthood Are they difficult to raise as slings? Damn, with that photo I think I will pursue one again.

I'm not sure - I got this one at about 3" as a guaranteed female. I assume they're about like other US Apohnopelma spp, though.

Awww, she is pretty Becca! My daughter Laura has a matured female that I bought as her 2nd tarantula a few yrs back. She looks the same. When we got her she was gold all over, but they are pretty impressive when mature.
The first tarantula I got Laura was also all gold, but he molted into the pretty all black color that male moderatums do, so I went back to the pet store and got another one. They let me hold her and turn her over first to see if it was a girl, which I didn't do with the other one before buying it.
