Do his legs look long and gangly? My super slow growing, extra small C. Versicolor just had a molt, and I keep thinking I'm seeing teeny little emboli on his little palps. Waiting for him to emerge from the web tunnel to really get a good peek, but my gut says I've got myself a 2.5" mature male. 🫣 Oh well. I guess I'll have my answer when he decides to come out. Suspicious pink blob as proof.
From the silhouette of the pedipalps, this is absolutely a mature male. Those are in high demand...Your guess is as good as mine, I can't really tell much through all the web. C. Versicolor in silhouette: View attachment 462021
I'm definitely suspicious.
I had one of those, just recently! He got his adult coloring at the same time. I have another male that hooked out who is huge, and he won't come out to playMy super slow growing, extra small C. I had a trio from the same source at the same time, most likely sacmates, with one random slow grower. Pic is him and his sister after 14 months with me, this was taken about a year ago: He's the one that just recently molted out mature, and maxed out around 3", actually slightly bigger than I though he was. I pulled the molt and it's 2.75". His brother matured out last year and was a LOT bigger. So growth rates can definitely vary. The sac mate to the versi that molted is on the left. The one that just molted put on some thickness. Was curious to see how they grew differently from each other.
yeah, under most light they look blue black. I took her outside and there it was...Almost pulled the trigger on buying one of those today. So pretty.
mine is pretty shy. So far little spice, but I don't press itAre they as spicy as I hear they can be?
