Well, it was completely unresponsive for at least 5 hours before I stuck a pin in it, and I mean limp and lifeless. Given the condition it was in when I got it out of the vial, I think I did good even waiting that long to call it. Some vendors have pretty strict timelines for reporting DOA and require photographic proof that the specimen is dead, thus the pin. I'm just glad I left it out on my workbench for the rest of the day instead of putting it in the garbage right away, otherwise I never would have found it!man i am torn
on the one hand why tf would you pin it, on the other absolutely amazed about what happened

It was a well known vendor and they were helpful getting the issue resolved. Mistakes happen, so it's nice when someone takes responsibility for them and makes things right.Very interesting story but I'd definitely stop buying from a seller who ships drowned spiders.
