man i am tornAnother molt this morning, this one deserves a separate post...
A couple months ago I ordered a trio of Grammostola sp. concepcion slings. Two out of the three were DOA. You can see in this pic that this sling was essentially drowned in the shipping vial because too much water was added during packing. I left it to dry out for several hours, but it was still unresponsive, so I stuck a pin in it and sent a pic to the vendor. The replacement was also DOA (which is the second one), but that's another story.

I went back to clean up about 6 hours later and noticed the pin was moving around under a paper towel - the sling had come back to life and was moving around with the pin sticking out of it! I very carefully pulled the pin out and put the sling in the condiment cup I'd prepared for it, not expecting much. Here you can see the pin hole right in the center of it's carapace:

I have been feeding and watering it about once a week, but it never took any food and I never actually saw it drink. I was pretty confident that I would eventually find it dead, but this morning I found it had molted and looks great! View attachment 461581

You can still see the pin hole in the carapace of the exuvia:

Yet another example of how resilient these slings really are. I hope it eats soon, will know in a few days...
