1.0 Monocentropus balfouri juvenile molted last night. Might be hard to see, there's a little bit of webbing 😂:

Here, this is better:

Looks like it's time for a rehouse...

Another Bach Ma sling molted today, as has one of my Harpactira namaquensis trio.

The big news, however, is that Sibiri (5th, now 6th instar female Pandinus imperator) is molting for the first time in my care after having shown signs of being in premolt for over three months (she kept eating for most of that time). Right now she's mostly out, but her telson and rear end are still in her exuvia and I have concerns about how much room she has given that she molted with her cephalothorax close to the wall.

Edit: Sibiri's done molting, just need to have her stinger bend and harden properly.

One of my 2 Grammostola rosea “Red” color form slings molted earlier today. I had been wondering why it was refusing to eat ever since I brought it home on the 15th. It never occurred to me that it might be in premolt because it did not look plump enough.
As you can see it did not put on much size. My father remarked that it looked it had gotten smaller. 😆

Anastasia survived her molt! I'm so relieved. The ulcer/ lesion on her abdomen is looking better but isn't completely gone. Here's a photo of her molt, showing where the lesion was located. IMG_20230829_111636139.jpg IMG_20230829_111423505.jpg

It's easy, just try to feed them..... I target feed all of my avic slings to make sure they eat lol.
My versi was hunting-challenged for the first year with me, so I do know that pain of making sure the feeder goes directly to the spider, lol. That adorableness just makes it all worth it.

Looks like you woke it up from a nap by sticking a roach in it's face, lol.
Nah, it's a problem I've noticed with all the Avic slings I've been raising and have raised. If they have ANY webbing attached to the top of the enclosure (lets face it, they almost always do), when you remove the lid they take that as a threat and hunker down, relying on their stillness and camouflage to be overlooked, and becoming initially non-reactive to prey. You have to snap them out of this, which I do by just lightly holding a twitching prey item right against their front legs.

My N chromatus moulted into an MM the other day! He is still a bit shy so no pictures yet, but he has very kindly placed his moult into his water dish for me

I switched to inverted Amac boxes when I noticed the webbing to the lid. Now I just poke the cricket lightly thru a substrate level air vent to get it to climb up to the sling and they pounce…well after awhile, they pounce.

0.1 Davus sp. Panama, 2.5" DLS.

She was flipped this morning before I left for work:

When I got home this evening and shone my light on her, she made a big production of showing me her freshly-molted booty while turning around 😆:

The color is crazy - like a day glow orange goofball.

Also had a molt from 0.0.1 Ornithoctoninae sp. Ranong blue.
