0.0.1 Pamphobeteus antinous sling molted last night. Its abdomen had been looking like a black balloon for the better part of a week and finally I saw it had flipped onto its back. It molted successfully a short time later.
It seemed to be having a bit of trouble getting the tip of its left rear leg free of the exuvia, so I very carefully administered a few droplets of water via pipette to the spot, which seemed to help it work free.
I can’t get a good photo of it right now but it looks to have put on a significant amount of size and is now notably more black than brown.
Your ability to sex molts that small still amazes me. Even with a microscope, I struggle! Two of my Phormingochilus sp. Sabah Blue slings have molted in the last 3 days (one today). The molt from a few days ago measured 1.75" DLS, and the molt from today measured 1.625" DLS. I was able to confirm the molt today as female (she also regenerated leg 1 on the left side):
0.1 Phormingochilus sp. Sabah Blue - 1.625" DLS
For reference. You have to get the focus just right or you'll miss them. Inset is at 60X...
Congrats! Is the 3 of 3 females? The third P. sp. Sabah Blue that molted last night looks to be female, as well. The molt stretched out to 2.125" DLS:

2 of 3 so far. The third one tore the molt up too much to tell anything. I've got 5 total, so I'd be happy to end up with 2.3 - and the odds of that are looking decent.Congrats! Is the 3 of 3 females?
