Beautiful blondi - looks to be about the size of my old boy (R.I.P.). How big is he?

P.S. If you're going to handle him, please try not to eat him! ;)

I use cotton wool for any water dish my Ts use, I did consider the spider sponges, but cotton wool works just as well, and they use it too, apart from my Avic Avic, but I still provide a water dish for her even tho she may never use it.
I'm curious if why you use wool in the water dish? Are you aware of the potential danger it poses? I have run across a few who use cotton or sponges in spite of sound counsel otherwise.

I have observed Avicularia spp. in my care drinking from their water dishes. Just because you don't see it doesn't mean it doesn't happen!

I agree about the huge water dish. May want to put some gravel in it or something, I don't use cotton or sponges or anything like that personally. Also, I can't tell from photos, but make sure light doesn't always hit his hide, mine liked to stay deep in it's hide until it molted 2 times. and yeah they are really fascinating. Wait till it gets bigger. The little ones have voracious appetites, but it will start eating anoles and giant roaches and pinkies after 1 or 2 molts depending on it's nature. Just make sure you don't put too big of prey or it will scare him and stress him out. Cool tank.

Great pics.

My experience with blondis is that the males are mellower than the females, too.

About the T. blondi pictures

That's only the second time I've picked him up since I got him two years ago. He was just doing his nightly rounds of trying to get out, climbing the side of the tank, ect, so I just said the hell with it and pulled off the top off the tank, and up and over he went. He wasn't jittery because to him, he was just continuing to crawl around like before... he didn't know the difference. He did occasionally make that hissing sound from rubbing his chelicrae together--that's when I put him down. My arms itched for a while because some of his hairs rubbed off on me.

T. Blondi's get very large in general. That male is about 10 inches right? You might as well put it on a leash and take it to the park. LOL While ur driving there, let him look out the car window like dogs do. hahahaha I bet you'll clear the street real quick. {D

Whew, big guy you've got there, I'm impressed you've managed to handle him, Blondi's can be nasty sometimes, but he looks pretty comfortable. Great images! :)

This is me with my mature male T. Blondi. Not too smart to handle these spiders, but, well, I did it...

Man despite the hairs, why shouldn't blondis not be handled ?? is it venomous ? whats the leg span ???

man the fangs on that must be huge !!!!
