She's lovely, what's her legspan? I'm planning on getting a blondi soon, they've been on my want list for a while now.

7"

Measured in resting she is 7", if she was in gait, or streaching she would push over 8" easy.

HAHA VERY NICE PICTURES! might be intense for some little people haha, i use to have a 3" blondi but sadly it lost its life due to mites, i am planning to get a good sized one sometime in the future, just dont know when.

Indeed

This one in particular has the best coat (and urticating hairs) Ive yet to see in a blondi....may it be I dont have 20! I plan on her being breeding stock as she is a fresh bloodline (by probability) or at least as fresh as i could get. So if they are are ne brave males out there.....

My big girl has been doing a bit of house keeping, She does this whenever I intrude into her space (Cleaning out bits that she hasn't eaten), Lol,

She is eating now, it took her 5 weeks from moult practically to the day

Close up Ish

She eats quite a lot, I feed her once a week, 2 locust a Fluff Is this too much ??

I think T's will only eat as much as they want.My L.parahybana eats like a horse 4-5 locusts and a small pink a week. It's always hungry,if i fill the water bowl from any sort of height it even strikes the bowl(from the vibrations I assume).:)
However there is a school of thought which says you can over feed.I find with the species I have they all eat when they want and go off their food when they are due to moult.
I'm convinced my L.parahybana would eat more if given but that's a particularly hungry species most of the goliath's are.{D

cheers Mike.

Since moult this Blondi has become quite fierce and yes tags anything that gets close to her, I have resorted to using wooden BBQ skewers to move old food remains since I don't want her to hurt her fangs on my steel forceps

Why is only the soil thats mouned in front of her burrow wet? Did she make it wet herself? Bring to from a wet place? Did you flood her burrow? Just curious :)

I use 100% Irish Peat Moss, I never flood her burrow  , I do what Soulsick suggested I push holes in the substrate and then use these to channel water to the bottom of the viv, It doesn't look wet to the naked eye, She has burrowed quite deep you can see the bottom of the viv if you use a flashlight, I would say about 8 inches vertically, I can see why they like/want lots of substrate. Those mounds you see at the front are a little deceptive, They are substrate and web, they have no consistency to them they are sort of fluffy soft masses, I suppose its a T thing whenever she eats she lays tons of web down and then collects it back up and pushes it to the front, in the second picture she is actually carrying a pile of it to add to the front bit, if you look carefully you can see her fangs holding it :)

I knew I gave out advice to you at some point. How is the holes-to-the-ground thing going? I think it works wonders. It holds humidity beautifully. Instead of getting BBQ tongs, get the scissor hemostat forceps. You can get them at, I believe, www.scissorcuts.com. I think that is the name. I have three pairs. Two large and one Kelly type scissor hemostat. Use a large to hold a molt, and use the small Kelly type to open the skin. I'm glad your blondi is doing well.

what are these holes idea? Im going to rehouse my blondi after it molts (adding more substrate to its 5" now, and doing 100% peat moss). I would like to do these holes in mine as keeping the humidity at like 60-70% has been a chore. (its a little dry here so its always at like 40-45%)

They work beautifully, Humidity stays around 72% unless I'm doing something in there with the doors open, then it sometimes drops to circa 68 (Before I did this I could tell when the humidity was low as my Blondi sling used to hang around the water dish alot now neither of them go near it, well not that I see, I do have some long tweezers (10") iirc, but she tends to try and tag them so I don't use them anymore, she is doing great atm eating well and quite active in the evening when the lights are low or off  she seems very contented with her hide and hates and intrusion.

Just one more thing she will not eat mice with fur on, If I leave one by her hide next time I look its been dumped by her water dish (Pinks and fluffs she eats NP) do you think I should try a rat pup ??
