Indeed -- interestingly quite a bit faster than her previous one. Her last cycle was 258 days. This one was 151. I haven't purposely changed anything, but it is possible average temperatures in her corner of the spider room have been a couple degrees warmer. Or, possibly, her burrow could be staying a bit warmer than the ambient temperature... 🤔
On the other hand my Pulchras are starting to take their time now

Lava was still doing some pretty serious stretching this morning... Here's a great example of why it's suddenly really hard to get decent photos of her:
1000013682.jpg

I can see her a little better "in person", and also recently got an actual camera other than my phone, so we'll see soon if I can get better photos with that or not.

I also got one of those bendy tripod things, so maybe when she comes out to eat I can get a decent hunting video 😂🤞

Her fangs are looking pretty close though, so going she might start poking toes out soon. This was her crammed in the corner five days ago:

Not the smartest cricket. Even so, pretty sure Lava was being a little over dramatic there...

Who needs a trapdoor , she is the trap 🪤 ? Queen 👸🏻 huntress!
Yeah, you can see the "door" still, it's that random clump of dirt just to the right in the photo lol. When she decided she'd had enough post-molt beauty sleep, she just booted it aside by like an inch and a half. 🤣

Lava expresses her displeasure at being abandoned for over a week with only two lesser mealworms for snack before her human's departure.

The NERVE of those bipeds. Then again, with only two feet, how do they do anything at all? 🤔

...yes, I will go get fresh crickets today.

She would like me to know that she has found where I "hid" her water dish.

To be fair, this is real evidence of the furthest she has wandered from her burrow "back entrance" since she dug it. The crickets seem to be super curious about what's down in that neat hole over there, especially since no one ever comes back out to tell them... So she never really has to leave. 🤣

I couldn't help but notice you started this thread a bit over a year ago.. kinda makes me think of this:

And

G pulchra and T blondi.. both females and both the same age.. about 14 months or so😅

I guess the combination of insane size and rapid growth makes a world of difference 😵💫🤷

That's a big pulchra for 14 months! I don't know how old Lava was when I got her, but she was the same size as my P. irminia sling I got at the same time... And he matured as a probably 5+" male last October 🤣 -- here he is, showing off his legs on the lid of his 6x6x9 enclosure:

Lava was still happily ensconced in her 2x3x4 at that time. 😂

I feed 3 times weekly and keep them warm (75-82F) so I get faster growth rates with most Ts. G pulchra are known for their slow growth but they also live for ages (25-35 years) so that's a plus. Sadly my T blondi probably won't last more than 15 years but I'll make sure to get plenty of slings during her lifetime.

Here's my 4 year old female G pulchra:

I don't think she's done growing, as she'll probably gain like 2 inches more hopefully but yeah.. you get attached to slow growing Ts and you know for a fact that you'll age together...

Gorgeous girl :)

My spider room stays "room temperature" so more like low 70s most of the time. Certainly not warm enough to prompt any kind of faster growth, but Lava has been putting on a good amount of size with every molt, so I'm quite happy with that.

I think she heard that Monday is trash day, because she finally took her trash out last night. She even cleaned her room 🤣 finally got rid of that wood chip that was down there.

Like a teenager, she has also discovered she can hide from my by going up the tunnel back toward the (still blockaded) front door.

In other news, she should have a few new neighbors soon, including a cousin 🤞🤞...
