my fiance and i will be flying into el paso on the 24th as well. we also have our room reserved for the duration. im pretty excited to get back into the swing of things after a couple of years off from the hobby. hopefully we have a nice turn out for this 'field trip'!

I just bought my tickets!! (I didn't get them as cheap as I wanted because I had to wait until I had money, which is today.)

Anywho, Lori and I will be arriving in El Paso at 3:20 Mountain Time.

I can fly into Dallas/Ft Worth airport, arrival would be on the 23rd in the morning, as no flights get in on the 24th until the evening via Sun Country. If someone is in Dallas/Ft. Worth would you be interested in carpooling if driving is an option?

If someone is in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area, and carpooling is not an option, can you please provide airline information for a flight between Dallas and Ft. Davis? I am from Minnesota and I do not know that much about the airlines servicing that area....

I will be flying out of Minneapolis/St. Paul Minnesota via Sun Country. I fly Sun Country for free so that is the airlines I will be using to get to and from Texas...

Edit: I just got back from a short trip to Oklahoma and Texas, Dallas is an amazing city...

I have a layover in Dallas before catching a flight to El Paso -- I'm carpooling with someone from there to Ft. Davis.

From what I can tell Ft. Davis is pretty small, and Sky said that the two closest airports to Ft Davis are Midland, Tx and El Paso, Tx.

Chris Hamilton and I are likely driving out from Dallas on the 24th, but it's not something I can commit to 100%. Also, I wouldn't be able to make any promises on getting you back in time for a return flight if your leaving from Dallas.

As was mentioned above, you'd need to fly into El Paso or Midland. There are usually cheap flights from Dallas Love Field to Midland (rather than from DFW).

Hey Everybody, this will be my first Field Trip..really excited about it I'm a School Teacher living in Jacksboro TX, which makes most small towns look big I want somebody to share a room and or expenses with..Either one of us can book the room, it doesn't mater. I'm Male, Single and Straight in case that matters. Just started to make plans so I can be really flexible if somebody wants to meet or carpool or caravan or..or.. Do have an almost supernatural ability to get lost though and I am new to Texas..

I would really like to go but I can't atm. Someday though when I'm 18 I'll be able too. I may even live in Texas because it's the home of my favorite Spanish singer Selena and they're some places I would like to visit there ( her grave and the museum her family made ).

Any way I hope you guys have loads of fun and tell me ever detail when you get back. And I want to see pics of your finds. They should be interesting. Today I found an earthworm and a bunch of pill bugs. And they made me happy. My first inverts of the season.......

If you already have a room let me know if you wanna share, I don't want to wait too long if I have to reserve one myself...As far as it goes I'm gonna be driving from Jacksboro which in in North Texas..but am open to riding with somebody else all/part of the way or giving somebody else a ride if it's not too far outta the way, caravaning sounds like a great idea too..can leave just about anytime as I am a teacher and off at that time..let me know

Oh, and while Im thinking about it, make sure your going to be home on October 11th and 12th for the DHRA Nationals. Your going this time, and you have no say in the matter.
