Very awesome acquisition! And molts too!
Thanks! It's the one T I've seriously wanted all the time right from the start. I need to get in contact with Levi (in regards to breeding) once I feel ready to breed her. I'd love to make these more readily available over here.

Short update btw:

Would you mind sending me the links to the info regarding the differences between Homoeomma Peru 1 and Peru 2? I'd like to give those a read.

Not at all, PM coming your way in a moment ;)

Rehoused my H. incei today and found she molted some time ago. Here's some pics and the vid:

Thought I'd try my luck on some carapace shots...didn't do too well :(

Another try...same bad pic...guess my cam just can't do any better without someone experienced behind it :(

GBB "Thana" enjoying a juicy cricket ;) (suspect male this one)

Nice set ups in the enclosures - those seem to be much more efficient in this hobby since everyone seems to have pretty decent size collections. Where do you buy your enclosures from?

Did you find out anything worthwhile reading those links? I'd love to know if there's something you might be able to add...thanks!

Thanks. I use common critter keepers of various sizes, normal sling containers with a plastic mesh lid and some enclosures from tarantulacages.com.

Love the vids, and Gemma is awesome I got to get me one.
Thanks. They're hard to come by and probably pricey over there. I need to get more of those myself (going for a breeding pair for sure)

They were some interesting reading, for sure. My Homoeomma is only about 2.5 inches in leg span at the moment, so it's hard to tell if I have the Peru 1 or Peru 2 species. I'll have to keep an eye on its subsequent molts and hope its a female so I can get a good look at the spermathecae. It'd be nice if the genus gets some revision and clean-up sometime soon, but I definitely won't hold my breath waiting for that to happen.

The whole subject Homoeomma. sp. "blue" (no matter of Peru 1 or 2) / E. pulcherrimaklaasi / T. cyaneolum is a mess. I tried contacting Dr. Bertani after Steve Nunn gave me his email, but I figure he's just way to busy to answer some hobbyists question. However, I've send mails to Chad for example regarding scientific papers, but so far, nothing. I figure it's maily because of petshops selling them wrongly labeled that there's so much confusion about these in the hobby. Anyways, I really like both species ;)

Tried my (not present) skill at some carapace shots...one of them is at least on the right way, but I still have a looooooong way to go.

Anyone wants to try telling me which those are? ;) (this could be funny btw, "carapace riddle" ;))

Gorgeous Euathlus pulcherrimaklaasi. She is quite a beauty, and well worth the wait Id imagine.
Absolutely yes! I'm looking forward to breed these in the future. That is, once I've acquired enough knowledge to do so and a MM ;)

Wow, very nice pics!
Thank you, Sir! :D

Storm, I'm jealous of that B auratum! (-;

T
Aww, why jealous? Are these really that hard to come by over there?!

Extra for you then, Terry, here's an actual one ;)
P1020265.JPG

Caught my H. incei (adult female) "Aurelia" out and about (guess that redone tank was a good idea after all) :D

P. subfusca "lowland" ("bara"...) - this was the only pic I could snatch as this one is very shy ;)

Very nice, Firali is stunning, and that subfusca"lowland" is nice. I am going to have to get me one, my wife is dying for more teleporters anyways so this will be right up her alley.

Thanks. Try Tapinauchineus sp. if you like teleporters ;) They are quite skittish and extremely quick, too ;)

Since some asked how the E. sp. "red" slings are doing...here's some actual pics...

This is the biggest currently, close to 1" - Sideview

Some more pics...felt like taking some ;)

A. purpurea 7th instar, suspect male
P1020307.JPG

C. fimbriatus #2 of #2, 0.5" 2nd instar, unsexed - also hunting like #1 ;) (he actually got both crickets...greedy thing!)
P1020310.JPG

E. pulcherrimaklaasi, 4", female (on this one you can see the blue metallic sheen on her femurs!)
P1020313.JPG

E. pulcherrimaklaasi, 4" female, (top-view - she was munching on a stray roach - she made the place above her hide her most loved spot obviously)
P1020317.JPG

P. pulcher, 3", suspect male (though ventrally this one looks female, I couldn't find a flap in the last molt...)

Finally got a couple pics of my P. subfusca "lowland" spiderling. The little one isn't really that skittish yet and was out today evening even sitting still when I opened the lid. Amazing... ;)

Can't wait for this one to grow ;)

 I really need a pulcher
This seems to be the most calm of the Psalms I own. Can't say anything about the P. langenbucheri yet, as that one is just 2nd instar, though. But sure, go get one - they're gorgeous looking!

A. purpurea, 8th instar, completely adult coloration (molted September 21st, 2012) :D - I suspect this one to be a male...
P1020328.JPG

From those 3 A. purpureas I suspect 2 are males actually. The third one is quite nasty tempered - threatening, slapping, fangs out...wouldn't be surprised if it's female (judging from comparison of temperaments to the other two :D) - but we shall see.

Some shots of my G. pulchripes, "Nyx", 6" female being out for a stroll while I did maintenance on her enclosure ;)

Those dots on her are actually dirt from her digging ;)

Up close and personal...

Webbing while walking...so interesting to see.
