Question about I. mira breeding

So I just shipped off my MM Idiothele mira to someone with a female. I’m excited to at least be trying to let him fulfill his spider destiny and not just sadly dying like my last MM T did. I’d be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous for him! I know his chances of being eaten are pretty high, which honestly, I’m not that concerned about because it’s better than dying alone. LOL What I’m wondering is how successful pairings are with this sp?? Does anyone have any ballpark statistics they could share or just personal experience?

The chances of being eaten, IME with the species, are darn near zero.

They pair very easily and with little to no drama.

Sac sizes are very small...like 40 or less often....but they can, and often do double clutch.

That is good to hear!!! I’m only wanting 4 slings from the clutch if it is successful, so as long as there’s 10 I think me and the female’s owner will be happy. Lol Thanks again for your reply!

Just sent off my MM as well (he has his first date with a pair of lady Ts tomorrow), and from what I gathered from looking up videos and breeding reports, what @cold blood says is spot on. These guys pair like a dream, I'd have been inclined to pair them myself if I had a female even though I've never bred before. I think I've seen one instance of cannibalism with this species, which was actually in a video posted by @KezyGLA (Tarantulas Glasgow) on YouTube.

Fingers crossed that your male is up to the task and the female lays a good sac. An underappreciated species IMO, we could always use more to go around.

So the “Father of the bride” as I’m calling him sent me this pic of his female shortly after unboxing my male. He said “she is ready for him.” LOL I know getting her to come out of the burrow can sometimes be half the battle for the male, so it’s looking pretty good at this point!! I never in my wildest dreams imagined I’d ever be this excited about spooder breeding. I just got into the T hobby about 2 years ago, prior to which I was terrified of any and all spiders. Actually packing him safely for shipping was quite the terrifying experience for me, but well worth it!!

The shipping part was definitely the scariest part for me as well, it was the first time I've ever shipped a T - but my fear was that he was going to show up at his destination dead. Thankfully that wasn't the case, and the breeder sent me a few choice images last night;
