Hi everyone, was hoping those with experience with this genus could post about differences in size and behavior of the different species. I did a search but didn't see such a post on here so if it's been discussed before my apologies and perhaps a link could be put out. I have a 12 x 12 x 18 enclosure that I would like to have be the final enclosure size and interested in a P. cambridgei but think that would be too small.

Search on each species and you'll find all the info you need.

As far as a 12x12x18 that is going to be too big for most of them. It can work for a mature adult P. cambridgei. You could make it work out depending on how you set it up.

For me personally IMO 12x12x18 I will only house a 7 + inch T in it.

Cambridgei are by far the largest species.....reduncus I believe is the smallest.....that said, Psalmopeous are fast, aggressive feeding ts, and as a result, do just fine in larger enclosures.

Most keep their adult psalmo in that sized enclosure, some only do 8x8x12 so your t should be fine in there 😊. They like small spaces to hide though so make sure there is a good round or 2 for the t to choose from and lots of leafy decor.
As for temperament they are all similar some are bolder then others eg I see my victorii more then I see my others but it's still only once a month if am lucky, see my irminia the least atm. (She's in premoult.)

Psalmo are great as long as you expect a grumpy, shy, food aggressive t that can boogie when it wants too. They are still my favourite arboreal genus though 😊.
I always found my pulcher the most chilled out of the genus and i have kept 7 sp from this genus, but still not a chilled t by any means.
My irminia is my spiceiest in temperament and the only t in my collection that actually came close to tagging me .
She was in her cork round I offered her a locust she threat posed it at the bottom of her cork tube it jumped into her enclosure, np can just get it out yer? No, soon as I reached the tongs in girl was up that tube n struck at my hand, was 3cm max between her teeth n my hand.... I haven't ever made that mistake again, I always go in from the opposite side to her bark now 😆 .
I tell you this not to scare you btw but to make you aware how quick they actually are she moved in not even a blink, but with good research on the sp you settle on and remembering not to let your guard down n you should be fine 😊.

You gots any more psalmo questions just ask 😊.

Not much to add to what @Charliemum said, just pick the one you like the most. They are fast, sometimes reclusive, sometimes display spiders. Usually the P. irminia is the most shy, but mine is out every evening. I've also kept 7 species and can recommend all of them :)

My P cambridgei is really facinating, maybe the P irmina is my fave though. It’s beautiful but cambridgei is bigger and more visible more often.
