I have 3 subfusca spiderlings. I spent an hour taking pics of one before realizing it was missing a leg! Oh, well.....the pic's not the best, anyway, but worth posting, I think. Still getting used to the D70.....

Lyle,

I did believe mine was a girl because of his abdomen marking BEFORE this last molt. He only molted in my care once before and I could have sworn up and down that his white stripe got brighter and bigger. But I was wrong. :( Unfortunately he totally destroyed his previous molt, and before I even saw him in his new glory, I had removed the skin and couldn't believe what I saw (or didn't see). Then I was so distraught that I actually removed some of his decorations so that I could turn the cork bark he was sitting on to see him with my own eyes. And there he was!

How big is your Reglis, Lyle? Has she molted in your care yet? If so, were you able to sex her? I'll keep my fingers crossed for you that she's a girl. ;)

I am not sure exactly how big he/she is because it hasn't come out of it's hide all the way yet. I would say between 5" - 6" though. At this size the black stipe on the abdomen has gone from dark black, to a very light grey. I have seen quite a few regalis's on this board that have very white markings though... I wonder at which size this occurs. I am sure the next molt will tell all.

Yes, it has molted in my care about 5 times, never being able to get the molt though until it was destroyed. I have raised it from a sling.

I am keeping my fingers crossed too!

I agree but its too small for that. At that size to 2'' legspan males and females look the same. When it will be 2-3'' than you can determine its sex with ornata.

i disagree with that i keep P ornata and its about 3.25" and i still cannot see any difference between male or female ill post a pic here of mine in a little while i also tried getting some input on this but it was basically a split decision. using all the pics here and on a few websites i still came up empty so maybe someone else will see this and have a better idea.
