Kewl spidah, Rob.

I'm planning on mating them today and hopefully I can get a video of it...
I noticed in another thread that you said the female needs a molt, wouldn't it be wise to wait until she is fresh to breed them? Even if you were able to breed her after she molted out, there would still be a risk for a dud sac. Either way, I wish you the best of luck!

The thing is i realy don't know how far along she is in her molt cycle....the former owner only had a guess.

I'm suprised no-one complains about color boosting or oversaturation with your pics. I got reemed out for doing in in my picture thread.

Regardless, very nice specimen!!
Most of the colorful spiders appear especially colorful when under a camera flash. I remember the first time I ordered an h. lividum, I was like "Can this be right? This doesn't look anything near the pictures." Then I took a photo with flash and wow, it looked bright blue!

Since most people don't normally keep anything near as bright as a camera flash on their spiders, what you see IRL in a collection doesn't look nearly as bright as the photos. So a lot of what we see on the internet looks better than what we'll see in real life.

Though you can get some bright bright lights to shine at the spider and that helps. Though I can't imagine keeping a display cage that bright, the spider would surely hate it.

So I would say most of the time there isn't photo manipulation, just unnaturally bright light direct at the spider. Videos are great because they're usually done without additional light, so you actually see what something looks like without all the extra light.

I agree...but pics of the Female P. metallica I took on pg 1 was without flash, just normal lighting.

Nice looking T! Now all you need to do is get us a sac or two...or seven. Flood the market and bring that price down!

I really hope you get some slings out of this project. How many females did you have to pair the male with? I'm sure you will be taking excellent notes as usual. I'll be looking forward to some updates. Good luck!
