Is it just the pic or is she really purple? How come everyone else got purple P. cans...

yeah, that's how she looks in person (tarantula). but when she goes into premolt, her colors dull severely.

enclosure question

Sheazy, what are you planning on for thier enclosure when they get bigger? Or if anyone else has advice, it would be much appreciated. I have a little P. cancerides, I know thier terrestrial...but thier big and don't seem as heavy bodied as some of the other terrestrials. I have to buy a new enclosure soon, and I'm looking for ideas. I've had a great deal of difficulty on finding care sheets on these guys.

Are you sure that is a cancerides? could it be another Phormictopus?

I bought it as a P cancerides.
It is going to molt very soon, probably any day now. I have some doubts as well, but I will see what comes out of the molt It's still just a little guy, about 2 1/2".

I bought her back in 2005 at 5 inches and she was sold to me as P. Cancerides by a lady in Carrollton, TX.
