Good luck Rob. I just had my girl drop a sack but my other female that should be prime for breading will have nothing to do with the male. How long since your female last molted?

This is the part that sucks, I do not know when she last molted!!!

Did you try Talkinglate04's flashlight trick through the glass at her AB rob? You could cleary see the yellow shadow on his pics.

I have tried that and can not get it to work, I must be doing something wrong LOL

Or she is not gravid.
I can see the eggs inside my female ornata right now and she is still about a month or more from laying.
What kind of light are you using? Led does not work well at all.

I'm using a regular flashlight but I can't see anything...but it's been a while since I've gotten her on the glass and tried to take a look. I don't know if she'd stay on the glass - she's so fat now! LOL

Okay...I did just pick up a new flashlight a few days ago (after our dogs ate our other one...goofballs)...it's like a mag light only smaller...maybe that'll work better for me.

She loves the log, she also can have a hide enderneath the log, there is a space that is covered by the plants and the log. She protects that hollow tube and if I as much touch the klid she flys into it.....rob

I have found that it is the hide shape that matters when it comes to coaxing a sac from a female. The favor a certain shaped area. That is why my setups for gravid ladies are the same every time.

They like a hide that is wide at the bottom but narrows toward the top. They seal themselves in and it is the perfect shape for them to make egg sacs.
Just like this. It is sort of like a volcano in the corner. The top is just big enough for them to get in and out.
