and i hope you do sell her one , but if you do be nice and sell it to her for like 150-200 ...just to be differant : ) and in 2014 be ready for some competition hahaha . i understand my flawed logic ,its just that i love this hobby and i love ts..just want to extend that feeling..im a hopeless romantic hahaha
Your logic isn't all that flawed . It wasn't long ago you couldn't find a Pulchra sling for less than a $100 . Then fantasticp started selling them for $40 . You can bet a lot of people bought more than 1 . There are now more people who will try to breed them and that will put more in the market . When she started selling them for $40 prices came down across the board , you can still find them for $50 . There are several people I know who are working toward the $100 p. metallica .

Dealers can sell them for what they choose. If they plan to breed them than go ahead. I want to get more into the hobby so everyone can have them and not just the ones with the money. This is a hobby to me not just something to make money. Even when/if my slings sell out, there are still going to be more dealers selling them at $100-$150 if not more that will still probably sell out. Either way they are in demands and people will buy them. I am sure none of you want to keep paying $600 bucks for a 3 or 4" female or something along those lines. It get ridiculous. I can be spending $600 on something such as a car housing payments and so on no on a Tarantula. Yeah it is beautiful and yes it is in demand and are hard to come buy so why not lower the prices. Some people live off of the sale of tarantulas alone but there is not a guarantee they will sell all the time especially at the high of a price.

Regardless of rarity or beauty...the bottom line is P. metallica is NOT an easy species to breed, this factor alone will keep it priced high. I've bred various females and still haven't had much come out of it....it's the same story with a few other experienced breeders as well. It's a very expensive process to breed P. metallica, especially having to acquire the sexes and time everything out properly. They will never be 50.00 spiders IMO.

And if they were 50.00 spiders...they'd still be my favorite.

Well, i've already bred my P. Metallica two times in the past week, both of which were successful insertions and going to one or two more times this week for a better chance. I guess we will wait and see and if so, yes, they will be $50 each for a sling. I figured at that price no one would care if it was a male or a female and at that size it would be extremely difficult to sex. I have the room and the setups I need for proper incubation and such. Again even after they are gone, the price will still be just as high as they are.

Think of me as just a break from the norm to get a better deal on rare sp. I am sure you'd rather pay $50 that $100-$150. The Christmas season has arrived so the extra money saved can go to a family member(s) or loved one or friend. One day they will get cheaper as the hobby progresses with
P. Metallicas. No as cheap as $50 no but cheaper in general. Think about it. With the downfall of the economy the T hobby as well as the rest of the animal hobbies will suffer as well. If the prices stay the same, we will eventually put less and less into the T hobby because we are spending more and more on house payments, especially here in FL, food, and electricity bills are going to go up soon. We are all happy about the gas prices, here in town the lowest I saw was $1.59 but how long will that last until it goes way back up to $3 or $4 bucks a gallon and some places it is even more worse than that. With that comes new and better technology which is a must have since it is more efficient but is more expensive. If the prices drop even a little bit in our hobbies, people will still stick with it as normal.

Kind of sounds like someone wants him to fail .
Not me. I personally would only want success for everyone attempting to breed them. We need more of this species in the hobby, regardless of the price.

brachy i commend what your doing and your doing it..not trying to say im like you or vice versa, but it seems as if were thinking and feeling the same way, lets just hope that others eventually get to that point and put the hobby not their wallet first..maybe at least just once : )

and as I say again if you or GoTerps read my last/previous posts correctly, "we'll see what happens." I am aware of the situations and not being able to get a good sac. I have told EVERYONE who has asked to write them down for a sling or two NO and not until I actually get a sac and depending on everyones money situations at the time when/if they are produced.

I'm not counting my eggs just yet but I'm merrily getting prepared.

parents just dont understand my dad said i couldn't have a tarantula until i moved out of the house one day i just brought one home said it was my christmas present and then a week latter he was talking to me about what other species i like and if i got another one what would it be now my dad loves my new hobby i think what you should do i show him everything you know about how their great pets super easy to take care of ect ect... then you will be able to get the few tarantulas that you want not the one's that your parents will tolerate, and besides your taking care of it not them so why do they get to choose, if you want a golith birdeater you should have one(if you know what your doing with those) i finally got my dad to the point of he doesn't care what kind i have its just how many since im going to basic soon and he will take care of them
