I doubted myself when I bought her...even more when I got her home and realized she was a solid inch bigger than advertised. I waited a week to rehouse her out of the pet store container so I could prepare some better rehousing techniques and get a better enclosure for her.
I have not regretted getting her for an instant since.

Just gorgeous.
She's a beauty. I really love this sp. I'm going to rehouse mine into something better than a bin with more clarity. I don't feel right looking through a milky container with this one. I may possibly go all out and just give her a 12x12x18. She's out much more She's close to 6" dls nowMy big, beautiful girl has gotten big! And is still beautiful.

Wow, shes a big'un! I always put any spood over 5" in a glass 10 gallon fish tank, great clarity and easy to work with. She's a beauty. I really love this sp. So with arboreals do stand the cage vertically?. I'm curious about this option. Do you have an example setup you could show? (if you're not busy)Wow, shes a big'un! I always put any spood over 5" in a glass 10 gallon fish tank, great clarity and easy to work with.
I personally don't have any arboreals myself now, but when I did I used reptile tanks for that. They have doors in the front and a waterproof bottom, good all around for them. I know of no cheap way to keep them sadly. So with arboreals do stand the cage vertically?. I'm curious about this option. Do you have an example setup you could show? (if you're not busy)
His maturing molt was October 29. I really don't know what to expect but I'm hoping he'll make it to the end of 2024 with us.
I remain impressed that Spunk stuck with us for almost an extra 5 months past a year. I love my Irma girl, but he's the one who convinced me that my collection, while very small, will probably always contain a growing Psalmo.Awww bless him. I asked and males live about a year once mature
He did amazingly well! All hail your handsome boyI remain impressed that Spunk stuck with us for almost an extra 5 months past a year. I love my Irma girl, but he's the one who convinced me that my collection, while very small, will probably always contain a growing Psalmo.
Spot (P. ecclesiasticus) is definitely growing -- becoming more visible with some decent size, and embracing the classic Psalmo sling hunting methods:
And the size gain is finally starting to catch up with the other slings...

Strongly considering naming her Magma. Because, y'know, her neighbor Lava has been sequestered underground for like a year and a half, but this girl is always topside and didn't even bother digging.
My husband: "... Wait, isn't that backwards?"
Me: "yes. Yes it is. Thank you for explaining the joke."
Because I am easily amused, and half my spoods have a "long" version of their name (e.g. "Lava, The Floor Is") hers is probably "it's Magma when it's underground, derp".
Likely she'd be Maggie for short.
