Hi there!

My name is Pri, I'm from western Canada. I have a growing passion for arachnids and was hoping to become part of the community rather than silently perusing during times of arachnid conundrums.

Looking forward to engaging with you all!
Cheers~

Hola, Phendy here, from Iran (north-west tip of the country).
just joined now. hopefully I'll start my little scorpion den soon after finding a wild chubby tail. have my UV flashlight ready, just waiting for the full-moon to pass.
I think it'd be cool to start with a species found often around here. ( Androctonus crassicauda and Mesobuthus eupeus are easy to find, but I really love a H.Jayakari, unfortunately they're found at way southern regions of the country )

Hey everybody!

My name is Zion, I am 26 and from the Midwest and am currently researching up a storm on how to care for tarantulas. I have always been interested in raising Ts from an experience I had at a school assembly when I was younger but have never fully made the jump until very recently after someone I knew decided to impulse buy a Aphonopelma chalcodes and the poor thing passed away due to neglect a few months later. It really upset me when I found out about its passing and to prevent anything like that happening in the future I started researching everything I could so I could become a haven of sorts for these hairy little fellas.

We have multiple animal expos throughout the year and the amount of posts I end up seeing on craiglist of these guys needing to be rehomed is actually pretty absurd, and since I recently moved into a bigger area I decided "hey why not?" And slowly ease my way into being a local T rescuer.

I currently do not own anything myself, but I plan on browsing at the next NARBC at Tinley Park in October. I feel like that is more than enough time to take in all the information that I can before actively participating in the hobby.

If anyone has any advice feel free to shoot it my way!

I am glad to be a part of this community :)

Welcome to ab Zion! I am sorry to hear about the chalcodes they are amazing floofers , but your doing the right thing by researching before you get a t or 2 , I did the same it's been a wonderful journey nearly 4 years in and alot of t's later I couldn't imagine life without them 😊 More ppl should research first .

Tom’s Big Spiders (a well respected AB member) is a great place to learn the basics for a species (and he had tons). Also:
Hit up folks here with specific questions. Welcome to the boards.

Hey yall. My name is T and im from Virginia. Ive been browsing this forum as a guest for a couple of years and recently decided to make an account. I have been keeping inverts for about a year now. I own several species of tarantula and will be adding more in the future. I used to be so arachnophobic that i couldnt even look at a picture of a spider in a text book. I am now so fascinated by spiders and inverts in general. At the moment, avicularia is my favorite genus

Hello everyone. I'm Dariusz and this is my first (I'm 44) spider. My absolutely gorgeous GBB. This hobby of mine started couple of years ago when I wanted to know what a few of the common spiders are and after a few thousands hours it seems of YT videos of spiders here I am owning a tarantula :) First of few more to come I'm sure. My girlfriend loves it as much as I do and wants another. Such misunderstood and beautiful creatures.

Hello everyone! My name is Leon and I am a 22 year old Spanish dude that's obsessed with spiders! I used to be an arachnophobic until I got introduced to jumping spiders 6 years ago and I've loved all kinds of babies since. I currently own an Aphonopelma Seemanni and I'm getting things ready for a Lasiodora Parahybana and/or a Grammostola Pulchripes. I am an ornithologist and I also have a major as an exotic animals specialist and vet tech. My baby's name is Scooter as you can see from his terrarium tag hahaha. Since these photos I've added more substrate because he's a very nice digger. I don't know if it's a male or a female yet and he's moulted once since he came home. I know he's too slim, he had a very big fast and refused food for a long while but he's back into eating his crickets now!!

I'm Brad and I'm 18 from england. I'm very interested in all insects. I breed mostly isopods, snails and roaches. I also have a female giant house spider with babies. I need to know what to feed them.

Hi! I Guess!
I'm Magpie and i'm an Autistic, lesbian, taxidermist and artist from the UK
and i LOVE all forms of bugs and joined here originally to
ask about the most appropriate way in which to preserve my naturally deceased
pet spider's (Lotus) abdomen, (which failed
:bigtears:)
But yeah! Can't wait to be more active on here! and share my knowledge with others!

Greetings! I'm just looking for a good community of people who share my love of all things that creep, crawl, slither, scurry, hop, swim, and fly.

Currently my favorite Tarantula is my Psalmopoeus Cambridgei, but I'm itching to get a Psalmopoeus SP 'Black'.

Fun random fact about me. I've never been bitten by a spider, or any other invert. But I did get bit by a squirrel once. Of course now that I say this I'll go get bit by something later today I'm sure.
