Haha yeah, first thing I thought.

You might enjoy my captions in the rest of the thread, then.

Baaah too many pictures to process, and I keep taking new ones :D

I need to do a late anniversary special, as I've reached a year with my tarantulas by the second half of October.
But in the meantime...Is that what I think it is?

"I wonder what's wrong with our human. He doesn't look that good."

"He has indeed become apathetic, insomniac, and some other fancy words I don't understand, but hey, look, I have a monocle!"

"Bullffit. Wou wuff haf a waffew dwopf o-"

"DON'T TALK WITH YOUR MOUTH FULL!"

"I can't believe you're doing this gag again. Human, think of something else!"

"Actually, I believe the other humans would be disappointed if this recurring gag hadn't appeared at least once per this captioned session."

"Durp?"

"Oh, my apologies. I shall attempt to use as short words as possible in order to improve your comprehension of the events."

"Certainly not trying too hard, huh?"

"Ooooooh, it's Miss Grumpy!"

"I believe the name is Morgana."

"Damn right. Better remember it, red moron!"

"Back on topic. What about our human? Will he be alright? Who will feed us if he dies?"

"Maybe he just needs to moult"

"That does it. The magnitude of this conversation's stupidity has exceeded the tolerable level. I am out of here."

No spiderly goofiness, it's going to be on a serious note today.

As I might have mentioned, by the first December week, my B.smithi moulted. She could be..I dunno, 7-8 cm DLS now. When she first appeared outside, I couldn't miss the formation on her abdomen, a bit over 1mm in diameter approximately, pink-ish.

It doesn't appear to be impairing her in any way, she eats, she's spazzy as ever, hairing crickets (which she has in her fangs), attacking water stream..

Still, I am concerned, especially about the possible next moult complications or other long term consequences.

Thoughts?

It's a tarantula tumor! That is odd looking- I wouldn't worry just yet

Still kind of concerned, especially what's it going to do after the next moult. She is my first T after all, albeit only with a dozen second margin (she was the first one from the batch of four I was handed)

"Human, will my friend be alright?"

Sitting on a bunch of pics again, can't kick myself to process them for posting here :D well it's not like showing the same tarantulas over and over is that interesting :D

buuut well, since I've uploaded this one elsewhere anyway, might as well post it here.

Wow, Not even an hour after I put an ad in a local website, I got an offer of 0.0.3 Lasiodorides polycuspulatus for Igor - see pic above (I prefer exchange for slings rather than half a sac, I have no space for those)
What do you guys think? Should I go for those? I found some info about the species, it seems a standard KISS terrestrial setup will do, and it's an interesting, underrated species, but there's a little, undefined BUT. Don't know what exactly it is, but it is a BUT.

Babies!

As I've said before, I parted ways with Igor the big G.pulchripes guy in exchange for some baby tarantulas, I just really wanted to let Igor do what he's meant to do, and the breeder was happy to provide "surplus" babies from his other breeding projects. Gotta say, they were even tinier than expected!!

So here goes:
Top row - 0.0.2 N.chromatus (I got more but already gave two away to a friend.
Bottom row - 0.0.2 Lasiodorides polycuspulatus - really excited about the little guys, the species seems uncommon both in Czech Rep. and here on AB. Whooo knows what really grows out of those tiny TINY guys :D They seem to be 1st instar (big round yellowish abdomen, not yet looking like a proper spider :D )
The lone bystander on the left - 0.0.1 P.irminia, biggest of the five at about 1,5 cm DLS, very skittish so no accurate measures were taken.

and a bigger version, just link

Nice new slings! And wait...did you state you got another P. irminia? That's cool, bro! :) I tried to get "Firali" out today, thinking she was sitting visibly in the open - I got a rather nasty attack from her that nearly succeeded on my thumb lol! I can tell you that a slap is an interesting experience - just glad she didn't go instantly for a bite hehe! :)

Yep! It was either that or 5 more N.chromatus :D of course I chose the irminia. The little one is so cute but there are little signs (s)he'll grow to be as short-tempered as Morgana :D

I'm still slightly surprised that the one I raised from a tiny 3rd instar is now a total beast, while the one I got as 3" juvie is still totally calm hehe! Wouldn't give either away though - I just like them too much!

Feeling pretty meh lately, so no captions or stuff..

Here's a tiny Lasiodorides polycuspulatus at least..the one that survived. Now I only need to get that stuck piece of exuvium off.

Long time no update. Just didn't feel like it somehow.
Sitting on a bunch of pics again, and for now, let's have some that I took with a borrowed cam.

Starring, in the order of appearance:

Adéla the B.smithi
Taz the A.versicolor
Shiro the G.pulchra
Kagura the G.rosea
Ozzy the A.geniculata
Indy the C.cyaneopubescens
Codename: 'Bobík #1' (or #2? I really don't know) the N.chromatus
Codename: 'Unnamed' the L.polycuspulatus
Codename: 'Morgana Jr.' the P.irminia
Morgana the P.irminia (voice only)

"Human! I managed to dump stuff in the waterdish and it drained all the water! I demand a refill!"

"Oh not again. Our human is taking pictures instead."

"Doesn't he have enough already?"

"Believe me, he will never have enough"

"And I still don't have enough water!"

"Aren't you an arid climate species, anyway?"

"I like being photographed!"

"Oh for Pete's sake, be quiet! As if the noise that the new kids make wasn't bad enough."

"Oh, those. Do you think our human will take ages to name them, again?"

"Hey, we do have names! Sort of. I'm Bobík #1 and my sibling is Bobík #2. Or am I #2?"

"That's not a name, that's just a working title. And I don't have even that.."

"At least you're not just Morgana Jr."

Voice only, Morgana from her underground lair: "YOU FORGOT TO DO THE 'MOUTH FULL' JOKE!"
*Taz groans"

Hydra I LOVE your posts man!! I was JUST thinking of you like 2 days ago because I had a picture of a T that would be fitting of one of your hilarious T captions. I think I deleted it because I hadn't seen you lately however. Looks like all is well in Euro Tville !
