Definitely entertaining, I have never met your spiders but I can imagine what they would say, you'll have to give us an update on the handsome Igor and if he became a father or not. I would have a photo thread but it would end up with the same 3 or 4 T's (mine want nothing to do with my camera) and I wouldn't be able to come up with fun commentary.

The guy's female molted out after pairing. I miss the big black-and-gold guy but I wouldn't have the heart to watch him wither away. I think it's NOT my last G.pulchripes though :D

Well, my photo thread are the same Ts for quite some time, well, cept for my new baby spiders from the trade.

"But hey, human, Igor definitely got some!"

"Aren't you too young to talk like this?"

Yeah, Morgana is a pretty girl, and no photos can do her justice, as the legs are jet black in reality, yet due to the relative angle to the camera they seem gray when photographed.

She's going to be a pain in the arse to rehouse, as her current home is quite inadequate should she moult again - she's quite defensive, likes to threatpose and slap, and it'll be a horror to get her into a catchcup due to a quite unfortunate position of the enclosure opening.

Ha! Enjoy! "Firali" is the same way. Tried to get her out yesterday for a few pictures - result was her shooting to the top of the enclosure, fangs spread, venom dripping and slapping the heck out of my tongs *sigh* - the good thing: It's because of I saw her fully like that, that I now know she's in premolt!

"Oy, where has Adela gone?"

"Our human has attended the monthly expo once again. I believe he is preparing a large-scale transplantation operation."

"No fair! You're using long words again!"

"It means I got a new house and all! Look!"

And I heard Morgana's going to get a new house tomorrow, and Taz is going to get her old house! This is exciting!"

I wish you luck on the transfers, my P.platyomma was very upset with me when I attempted to transfer but as soon as it got into a new house it dug and settled itself in a few hours. I'll have to transfer a very skiddish E.murinus soon as my bf don't have the speed to do it.

Thanks, tomorrow's gonna be a big rodeo, as I'll be transferring my two irminias. One's a black-and-orange lightning, and the other is a big, black-and-orange ANGRY lightning. Will be fun.

Out of my personal experience with my couple girls: They'll slap and bite and stuff only a few times and once they realized it's a straw (or whatever you use to prod them) they start moving away slowly. Then it's the only time where mine ever went either teleport, or move calmly (Phaedra never runs - lucky me!). Hope that helps some...make sure you do the transfer in a room without many things they can hide behind, so you can recapture her in case she goes into the wild :D Good luck!

A bathtub should be a good spot - unless you think Morgana could actually run up its walls. Also her enclosure has quite an unfortunately solved opening on top, I'm not even sure if it was intended as a vertical one, it might have been built as a horizontal one - but it was the only option I could afford at the time, the alternative being the horribly overpriced exo-terras.

Thanks for the advice, I actually observed something similar when refilling the water dish while Morgana was out. Slapped a couple times, then retreated into burrow.
I'll make a report when it's done. Hopefully it's not going to be a bite report.

Don't be scared, just careful. And yes, they easily climb bathtubs :D

She didn't climb it easily but eventually she did. The escape was short, she didn't get further than top of the tub. To my surprise, there were no slaps and just one half-hearted threatpose towards my pokestick. Although there were minor fumbles, corraling her out of her old enclosure and into a catchcup was easier than I thought. Coaxing her out of it AND into the new home, that was harder and resulted in the aforementioned escape. On the second try, she accepted her fate and entered the new enclosure.

"Oh hey, what's this? Looks fancy."

"WHAT IN THE [BLEEP]'S NAME ARE YOU DOING HUMA- oh look, the white background makes me look slim"

"Oh, this is nice, actually"

"Ahhhhh, found my cozy spot."

Haha, awesome! Glad it went easy! I remember my stubborn Phaedra not wanting to be rehoused at all. No threats, no running, nothing. Instead she snatched a cricket while in the catchcup and ate away while waiting :D

And Morgana has already managed to poop around some. Sigh. Why do I even bother with nice enclosures..

Everybody needs an A.versicolor.

Thanks, always nice to see feedback.
Only wish I had a better camera with a flash diffuser, the pictures are horribly bright. The cam itself (which isn't even mine, just sort of perma borrowed) isn't bad by itself, but it has this popup flash and no external flash mount. Aaaaand a cam is pretty low on my to-buy list, with me being effectively broke.

edit: Lots of text, not enough pictures as of recently :D so here's my G.rosea with her favorite pastime: Dumping substrate into water dish, webbing over it then complaining there's no water.

My Homoeomma sp. "blue" female hates her waterdish!

Refill?
"Yeah, thanks! Not thirsty" - and she vanishes until the damn thing is dried out.

Empty waterdish?
"Cozy" - sitting IN it! - and it starts at Refill? again.

*sigh*

Yep, sounds like my Kagura.

Around noon, Morgana had a bit of identity crisis.

"Psalmopoeus sounds so masculine, I don't like it. I want to be Poecilotheria irminia."

All of my arboreals seem to have this mini crisis, I even caught my C.darlingi pulling a pokie.
