Holy balls, I neglected the pictures quite a lot...well, dunno, just not feeling like taking many photos atm.

Wow, have I really neglected it here that much?

Sure, part of it was due to other duties, but when I had the time, I just...well, didn't do much anyway. It's the time of the year, and also maybe very early onset midlife crisis, who knows..

Anyway, here's a compilation of Ozzy's pictures as time goes by from butt with legs to the handsome teenager (s)he's now, that I made. Thought I'd share.

Well, new year, new thread. I'm not exactly sure why myself, but starting a new thread feels right. It's been so long since I posted in the old one, and...oh well, I dunno. I'm just doing this.
I'm sitting on a bunch of pics that cover several months sooo I'll start with some from last November:

"It seems that our little community has been expanded, albeit accidentally more than intended."

"Oh come on, I'm gonna harden up completely here before you get your point across. Hurry it up and say what it is!"

"Very well, then. Our human acquired an Avicularia purpurea, and two Poecilotheria ornata spiderlings.

"H-hello. I'm Mr. Taz's distant cousin. Pleased to meet you."

"I'm..Dammit, what's my name?"

"Weatf mwe. If fakef ouww humam aghef fo mame uff"

"No. We are NOT doing the 'don't talk with your mouth full' gag this time. Or ever again."

"As always, it is my burden to elaborate. My friend Shiro was trying to express that our human is very inept at assigning names and it takes him half of an eternity to come up with one. He did not even name the colleagues that came before you yet."

"And I was an accident! When the human made the transaction, he was told there's only one of us. But surpriiiiiiise! There were two! Hi!"

Good. The purpose is to amuse, even though some erm..senior memebers would scoff at the very notion of tarantula anthropomorphisation.

No 'sketches' today, but my two little ornatas took down their first crickets. Daddy's proud.

(in case you're wondering, I use Callosobruchus maculatus beetles to feed small spiderlings)

"I just molted recently. How about you new lot molt at once, let's say in a week's span?

"Sounds fun. I'm in!"

"I didn't want to, but I guess my opinion doesn't matter."

Oh, the ornatas are going to be a handful. Not only they're awfully fast and spazzy, they do puppy eyes on me.

My fasciata male is the same way and considering he's not fully grown yet but already behaves as if he's king...it'll be fun the next rehouse, I'm sure of it

Fortunately, my two little beasties have some time before they outgrow their current dwellings. By the way, have you noticed the difference in coloration? #1 (last picture has light-coloured, almost pinkish palps and is overally lighter-coloured than #2 (pic above the A.purpurea).

And here's a little silver Lasiodorides polycuspulatus because I don't like posting in a pic thread without pics.

Been a long time, hasn't it?
Stuff happened, life and other things. A few of my tiny ones succumbed to a mysterious fungus outbreak. It's been eradicated and hasn't reappeared since.

Anyway, here's a few pics without silly captions this time..

Both my P.ornata slings are doing well, here's the darker and more bold / less reclusive twin, having acquired a fresh new coat quite recently.

Ozzy continues to grow at a steady pace..gonna need a new enclosure for him/her soon.

Taz stubbornly refuses to become an adult. Not that I mind..

(human's note: I wanted to highlight the colour difference with and without flash, so you get two pics of Taz for the price of one)

Whew. That was a bunch. And yes, I've always imagined Taz as quite loquacious and a tad British.

Managed to snap an up-to-date pic of the ornata which the other tarantulas call Accident (as for myself, I really don't know which one is Accident - I planned to get just one but there happened to be two slings in the jar, which I found out on my way home)

I wonder if I should start a new thread and get this one deleted. You know, clean slate and all.

When I look at my previous A.genic, I can't help but notice her coloration was far sharper and darker than my current one's, even though she's already bigger than the first one was.

I'm a tad worried tbh.
