They'd make one HELL of a couple :D

(and imagine the demonspawn babies..especially if they'd inherit the temperament :D )
LOL - no thanks! Granted, she can be calm like a lamb acting like "Why do you touch me" and slooowling moving away, but for the most part, she's pure evil lying in wait for the silly keeper / prey getting to close! :D

You guys must be tired of me showing the same few spiders over and over :D well, I tried to snap some pics of Ozzy the A.genic after his second moult in my care when he was ready to eat...but the little one is now elusive as ever and dragged the cricket underground immediately.

Well, here's his/her butt at least.

Of course, once I closed the lid, (s)he became indecisive whether to eat inside or outside and spent a few minutes going in and out with the cricket only to settle in the mouth of the burrow.

well, have a Taz at least :D can't go wrong with blue

Finally took some pics of Ozzy the A.genic. I'll toss in some older pics that I was too lazy to upload, too. Yeah, same old five spiders over and over, just deal with it :p

Shiro the G.pulchra regained the appetite indeed after moult.

You are NOT taking my cricket, human!

Who said size matters?

Since she moulted, my B.smithi girl adopted a peculiar modus operandi - she takes the prey 'home' only to re-emerge with it a few minutes later.

Oy, human! It's still moving, care to help me with it?

No? Fine. Not gonna share with you, then.

You're not getting mine either, I had to dig it up. See how messy I look?

I tried to film Igor the G.pulchripes feeding but the superworm burrowed and he didn't show any sign of going after it. Of course, the furious action started the moment I put my video cam down. Eh, some photos at least.

I'm usually *ending* with my little blue photo model but the spot is reserved today.

My future tarantula-human ambassador in training. After all, you can't do modelling forever.

And here (s)he comes, ladies and gentlemen - today's star, the elusive Ozzy!

Thank you, thank you. Now would you let me eat in peace?

Speak to the spinnerets, cause the face, it ain't listenin'

Damn papparazzis from above!

Can't even web my cricket without someone peeking?

Eh, long time nothing new from me..Laptop keyboard busted, was busy with non-spider related things and I also still have the same quintet of tarantulas, nothing new really happens.

Ozzy the A.genic in its new home

Adéla's favorite spot

Waiter! One superworm, please!

Igor doesn't use his hide as hide either..

Classic and repeated Taz pose agaiin...but on this pic, I just love the toes being so visible..
...the toes...the toes..

Hmm, could my little Grammostola pulchra called Shiro be darkening for a moult?

My pulchripes girl never hides either - usually. Haven't seen her for 2+ months now and she stays in her sealed hide. *shrugs*

My suspect male wanders around almost constantly...like a male.

Turns out I was right about my little fat pulchra.

Natural light didn't work so well, the cam just doesn't seem to pick it up :D

A couple more. Was so nice waking up to find Shiro having moulted.

Igor, the waterdish troll, caught in the act! Kudos to my brother, taking the pics in my absence..

however, realizing the camera has a flash one photo before battery died

Older pic - the very same suspect 1.0 G.pulchripes, spread over his hideout which he never uses as hideout in all his 11cm span.

His cousin Shiro, 0.0.1 G.pulchra, likes aftermoult yoga!

I guesstimate 4cm DLS after moult, definitely got bigger in the carapace area, building up the tanky pulchra look
The light makes Shiro ligher colored, (s)he's pretty dark gray/brown

"Hi, human, just passing through!"

I don't have to introduce my top model, Taz, right?

"Hey, I'm pretty too!" - Adéla, 0.1 B.smithi, cca 6-7 cm DLS, never got to measure her full spread so maybe more

"Look at my butt. LOOK AT IT AND TELL ME IT'S PRETTY!"

In other news, the elusive Ozzy the Acanthoscurria geniculata was finally caught in the open after 3rd moult in my care!

Look at those markings, finally living up to a part of the species' common name!

Now only needs to live up to the "giant" part :D

And that'll be all for some time, folks, you must be bored of the same five tarantulas, so I'll just stop for now :D unless I get that C.cyanopubescens tiny sling I was drooling over in the pet store. Gods, those are so gorgeous and the colour transformations are just amazing

Don't you worry about that A. geni - they grow -so- quickly with each molt...

Yeah, when I consider I got him or her as a 1cm butt with legs.. (not EWL, 2nd instar), and 3 moults after, it's triple the span..

On a slightly unrelated note, I think I really am going to get the GBB sling tomorrow

Sigh..GBB proved to be irresistible, and my fave pet store happened to have a couple slings..in the end, how could I have said no? :D
Of the two available, I couldn't decide which - so I flipped a coin and got this pretty little thing.

Rehousing of course didn't happen as planned, so I accidentally handled my second tarantula :D The sling was calm and casual, I managed to snap a few shots but only one or two are really usable.

0.0.1 Chromatopelma cyanopubescens, cca 2cm DLS

Eventually, I managed to transfer the critter into its new box, it took time and effort, (s)he didn't really want to part with my hand and then with paintbrush :D

As you can see, I'm experimenting with a ecoearth/rough grained sand premade mixture it is said to hold together better and keep the moisture, though I don't plan to use it with my dry area terrestrials (the two Grammies and the Brachy)
I'll switch to drier substrate once (s)he grows waterdish-worthy :D afaik GBBs like it dry as well.

It's so adorable!

And a curious explorer..

I'm calling him/her Indy :D

Got a bunch of pics accumulated, but not really feeling like dumping them here. The fact that I'm still stuck on the netbook doesn't help either.

Well, here's a Taz Postmoult special at least..

"Taz" - 0.0.1 Avicularia versicolor 3.5-4cm DLS

"Not interested, call me later."

"Waiter, bring me THAT cricket!"

"On the other hand, I'd rather take a walk."

Aww, that versi reminds me of my 2, they are the same size as he is :D
Hoping it's not a "he" :D I've got just a few, hence the repetition of "stars" in my T show - so I would like if all my slings turned out female :D

I need a better camera, definitely, this one can't really handle macro shots - and with flash it's overbright, without it it's too blurry. And I need to get my laptop working again, so I can crop the photos or something - I usually just let tinypic resize them

oh well, have an Indy at least. Can't get enough of my latest addition.

"Indy" 0.0.1 Chromatopelma cyanopubescens, cca 2cm DLS

Took advantage of today's reappearance of sun and experimented with natural light a bit

I need a decent cam, badly. Would you guess this is a G.pulchra (4cm dls) ?

Turned out really weird huh? especially in comparison with the other pics I made

Little Indy aka 0.0.1 C.cyanopubescens around 2cm DLS is making him/herself at home, adding new drapes every day since I gave her that small rock as a basis. Glad (s)he feels at home :D

Love this shot, it's as if the spiderling was hovering in midair

So adorable..

Ozzy the A.g. didn't like the sun much. Poor sod, his burrow recently collapsed, and now he's remodeling his enclosure yet again for like 5th time. Or her? time will tell. Girlfriend's "woman intuition" tells her Ozzy is indeed Ozzy and not Sharon :D

And of course, everyone's favourite blue spider..

Webbed up the lid again, this time the hammock can be stretched so I don't wreck it every time

Who does NOT love A.versi spiderlings?

Thanks, I still wish for a new cam but currently I have too many other things to spend on.
and among the things I have to resist getting, there are tiny b.klaasi and emilia slings :(

And it's "embodiment"

One of the older photos
