Great T's and enclosures Hobo. My N. chromatus used to use its waterdish as a toilet and trashcan also until it molted last. So far so good, its actually using it for drinking out of now.

PIT-CHURR TIME!!!:drool::barf::?

Forgot to post these pics of my metallica eating in last post. After stalking it, the cricket got wise and decided to jump. She followed it while it was in the air, and it literally looked liek she was bouncing off the walls. Both her and the cricket came to rest in this position, waiting for the other to make the first move. I wish I could say it was the cricket, but it was the metallica that got bored first and started to shuffle away... which startled the cricket enough to make it twitch...

and it didn't get far. It was the first time I've actually seen her hunt something; she's normally a very secretive eater. She'd only eat if you kept the room dark, left the room, and promised not to come back for half an hour!

Of course, being arboreal, she brought it up and ate it sideways!

After molting almost 3 weeks ago, the P. cancerides finally decided to come out and strut her stuff... and what great stuff she has to strut! She's getting some awesome colors to her abdomen and carapace.

A 'lil closer, different angle...

Decided to scrap my H. lividums "underground bottle" setup, as it became apparent that not only was she not content with it, but the bottle started to become disgusting inside with all her poo, leftovers, and whatnot.
So, I redid it, now with just a regular 'ol starter hole in the ground facilitated by some cork.

This was about two days after the changes. I've yet to see her out and about at night, so I take it that she likes this setup. Maybe I should poke my finger down here to be sure...

And finally, a shot of my GBB in an adorable pose.

Thanks all yous guys. Guess I should post up some pics then, wot?

So a couple of days ago was my Birthday, and so my friend got me a Tarantula! A new "Tiger rump" (I assume it to be a C. faciatum!)

Looks like she could use some fattening up and then she'll loo-

oh... well, I tried him on, and MM just doesn't fit me. Luckily, my friend got a "gift recipt" deal on a live animal (what?) so the next day I went back and tried on some different spiders.

I ended up coming home with a "starburst baboon" (I assume to be a P. murinus, TCF)

Definitely needs some fattening up.

And I'm guessing she's a female to boot! What do you guys think?

I'm liking her a lot. Crazy fast, mean, and now I can say I have an OBT... err a TBT(Tan-ish bitey thing)?

Hopefully as she settles I can get some decent shots of her.
Anyway, here are some of the others:

N. chromatus, looking good as always

B. boehmei, looking VERY nice post molt.

Ditto GBB, who's slowly covering every square inch of her enclosure in silk.

...including the water dish.

Mr. and Mrs Pennywort are doing well too, both are nearing a molt, it seems.

The rosea is still RED and still eating, both good things!

My A. avic is doing great, and is getting nice and plump. She is oficially my most friendliest spider. Never seems to mind being handled, and will even eat seconds after being returned to her enclosure (scared the hell out of me!).

The P. metallica, after several "rehousings" seems to have no visable mites anymore, both on her and in her enclosure.
Hope it sticks!

And last but not least, My H. lividum is finally all settled in in her burrow, and has grown quite plump as she now eats regularly and with much vigour. Thankfully, I see her often at her burrow entrance, waiting for food.

That's about it for my animal house-esque update.:p

The rest not pictured are doing good as well, but are either sealed up for premolt, or don't want to come out for good pics for some reason.
'Till next time, hopefully with new spiders! (Which should be soon since there's going to be a reptile show I'm going to try my best to attend here next month...)

Thanks for looking, and for the compliments!

I dunno, its not darker-than-normal P. lugardi?

Cool spider nontheless, looks female to me :)

Really? Hmm, I guess I'll do a bit of research on it, maybe post it in the ID section.

I'm going to try! The thing is I get back from a trip on the night before the last day of the show, so I'll play it by ear. If I do go, I plan on bringing a friend, and my parents too! Maybe my cousins. I'm thinking (hoping) I'm going to need a lot of free hands!

Well, after a bit of reading and research, I guess I'm going to have to wait for a female, intact molt from my new spider to get an ID....
and she looks like the type to chew molts and hang it on her burrrow wall!

Anyay, here's more of "her". She's a beaut, whatever she is!

Also, some randoms of my spiders on feeding weekend:

Here's some eating:

Well, she reached the bottom digging down, so I'm guessing she's trying to dig up.

Avic lookin' nice on her web mat.

Aww, you know what? Have some moving pictures instead:

Hmm, now I'm thinking chordatus. Way too dark to be lugardi. Could be different color phase of murinus, I'm not very familiar with them outside of the orange one.

Its a P. lurgadi .. im 99% sure.
It does look to be female also, too big to be male. Male lurgadi are half the size of the females.

Hahah. Well I guess I can't say I have an OBT (TBT?) just yet!
Maybe I should send her exuvium to these guys if I ever get an intact one from her for a positive ID.

"She" is only about 3" DLS. Still a littl 'un.
Hope you are right though. Gives me an excuse to get a P. murinus, since I was "cheated" out of one!

Thanks for the help guys!

Im positive that its a P.lugardi. Absolutley not P.murinus, and way too light to be P.chordatus.

Hobo, Im 100% certain she's a P.lugardi

FYI

P.metallica is a male, I sexed it from the first ventral pic you took. Also the P.irminia is a female.

Really are you sure?! That's unfortunate; I purchased it as a female. I'm gonna have to get her next molt from her and examine it to be sure. If it IS a he....
You any good at breeding pokies? :p

Also the P.irminia is a female.
Yup, I got a molt from her and confirmed it!
The other two are male though.
They're all still doing great!
