Thought she seems kinda small for adult but maybe she's just a smaller build? I've seen bigger rosies.

It doesn't have to be fully grown in order to be sexually mature. It may put on a little more size after it molts a few times. Rosies typically don't get any bigger than 5 or 6 inches.

Her name is Crazy, despite being a very docile girl. She just does very quirky things that I would never dream my other G. rosea doing!

Got my first T a week ago, was really excited. Decided to go with the G rosea for my first one as they seemed to be the best fit. For some reason this particular T seems to be a bit on the aggressive side. And by aggressive I mean he tries to climb up my tongs when i fed him.

This is Timothy Tarantula. This was right after I'd fixed his enclosure and moved him out of his deli cup. Since this picture was taken there has been a significant amount of dirt put in and the clay pot made him a little uncomfortable I think because we replaced it with a piece of pecan bark and since then he has been acting very spidery and happy. :) He should be molting soon I think. According to the guy that gave him to me he was hatched in February 2014 and his last molt was approximately May 31 ish. :)

Be careful slings can squeeze through the vents of those kritter keepers easier than you'd think.

I think he's too big. He's not as small as he looks in that picture. he is easily the size of a penny. Do you think that's too small? He's never climbed up the side....

I had a 1/2" sling escape out of a critter keeper just like that one. They can be surprisingly determined once they've decided they can squeeze through, they can gradually wedge their way through very small spaces.

Size down to a small tupperware container with holes punched it for air. Thats way too big for that size T IMHO. I'd lose the terra cotta pot too.

I did...as I said in the original post, I have replaced the pot with a piece of pecan bark.

This is my first terrestrial species of tarantulas, quite common yeah but I think she is really pretty. She is a huge sweetheart as well.

Congrats on the new addition! She's a beaut :) I just placed an order for my 3rd 4th & 5th T, but due to my budget I had to pass on a Rosie for now. Definitely near the top of my list for next time though, most of them are just big sweet teddy bear Ts !

Another of my son's Ts

Lovely view of it's bum but this is its favourite spot

That's a better view

He/she loves food. Just a shame that to get this pic I had to reach over the TV to take it from the side of the viv so I couldn't get it all in.

Got a pair of FREE mature G rosea today. Haven't had a rosie in years, they were free, and the male is GORGEOUS, so I thought, "eh, why not?" Just wanted to show off this bad boy. ;)

They're in temp set-ups since I wasn't expecting them.

Here's his lucky lady:

Your female is as skinny as your male sheesh. xD

It's always nice to see pretty G.porteri, especially when so many insist they're plain or even ugly. You caught the blue shimmer on the femurs very well.
