Sheri,

I's say it is about 6" on the conservative side...

Wait till yours grow, do not worry, they will be blue... I still cannot believe how nice this species is, I nearly had a shock when I took a look inside the terrarium of the one on the picture... I just had to take a pic...

My bigger female is in pre-molt right now... if it molts as blue as that one on the pic, I think I will have a heart attack!

Take care

Martin

Yeah, no kidding...
Do you find this species to take an especially long time to put on weight? Mine eats and eats, but still, the abdomen stays quite thin... but I don't have a lot of experience with arboreals, but these have seemed more prone to it.

Here are a few pictures for those who are tired of seeing "Cyriopagopus sp. "blue" titles, opening the thread and only seeing pictures of brown spiderlings... wondering what the heck is blue with that species!

**note that this is not the normal enclosure for my specimens before anyone wants to cut my head!

Hope you like em...

Martin, I am very disappointed that you SO blatantly used Photoshop to colour the tarantula blue (note the sarcasm everyone).

Very nice picture Martin.

The blue-ish, purple-ish highlights on the rim of the carapace... I'm wondering if the carapace appears that way naturally or as a result of any step in the digital processing? (take processing to mean uploading it, resizing it, etc.etc..)

What a trip! I knew those guys were blue as hell but I'm blown away by the carapace highlights. They're actually that intense in person huh? Very cool.

Cyriopagopus aren't really my thing but that is a very, very neat species.

Take care.

I just wanted to say that...

I am SO happy I have one. :D

Damn, they are an amazing species. I can hardly wait until mine gets a little bigger and the blue breaks through...

Atrax, this is my biggest female... I posted pics of another female of mine, probably one molt back and it does not have that purple highlight... I am curious to see if it will develop it at the next molt... but it is quite something indeed!

I would say they are a little bit more amazing in real... but it is pretty close to those pics... I think they do fairly good justice to the animal...

I have noticed that this species shows nicer on pics without a flash... here is a pic of the same specimen using a flash...

Take care

Martin
