There is literally a layer of dust on her lid so thick I couldn't take a photo through it, she's been premolt that long. 😍 I didn't want to interrupt her preening but wow is she pretty. And maybe 1.75" now!!!

Alicia my Grammostola rosea moulted . This girl was in my second ever order of tarantulas, she came on the 16th of June 2021 as a 1cm sling (what her first moult was) now a gorgeous 4 inch female. (What this moult was.) Super proud of how this girl is coming along and as she has webbed over her burrow to moult this time she will be getting her big girl viv very soon 😊 (ordering it today 😊)

4 inches on her moult probably could of soaked it to straighten those legs more but meh.

Thanks my SO said the same thing 😊 I hadn't even realised they were ment to be slower growing till I saw one of Tom Moran's recent uploads where he had his girl on and while she was the same size he said it had taken 9 years for her to get that big. Watch now I have said that she will stay this size for the next 7 years 🀣🀣🀣

I dont have a photo but I wanted to share: my h. formosus klein juvie molted sometime in the past week! It grew a bit and the abdomen of the molt I think is too messed up to properly sex it, but I'm really proud since this is the first time a t has molted in my care!

0.0.1 Davus sp. Colombia, 0.625" DLS

Modified pedipalps:

Tibial hooks (look more like tibial daggers, lol):

He's really cool looking, with a red and black tiger-striped abdomen and black femurs. I'll get him out and take some proper pics when he's hardened.

My Chilobrachys dyscolus sp. "Blue" threw this moult outside today and she's finally showing some of that amazing deep blue shine at 3.5-4" DLS. Hopefully I'll see the lady herself soon!

These are the freshly molted front legs and pedipalps of a mature male Sahydroaraneus raja:
1000015060.jpg

That's all I could see in the burrow, but it's enough to know this little one had me fooled right up until it's ultimate molt - I was convinced this was a female. Granted, it was only from a handful of ventral views, views that were very limited by the small window I had into it's burrow. One of the drawbacks of keeping fossorial species, especially those that don't bother to toss their molts out of the burrow... Sometimes you just have to wait and see!

Had a few little ones moult this week but been busy so had to wait till now to put them up.

20231221_142659.jpg
Pickle Phormictopus sp full green female sling all went great and she seemed to put on good size .

20231221_141521.jpg
Not the best pic but Opal Davus sp panama unsexed sling after getting rid of the mites this sling came with she was moved into a nice new home and within 4 days has moulted, really chuffed with how this little one has come along.

20231218_181640.jpg
Don Juan Theraphosidae sp Dorado sling, pic mid moult when I went back to check we were already back in the burrow but all looks like it went well.

20231218_171830.jpg
Grimis Theraphosinae sp Roatan unsexed sling moulted this little one moults quickly and already seems to be getting a tiny bit of colour .

2 of my juvinile females,
Grammostola ihiringhi Ingrid,
Psalmopoeus victorii Harlequin,
moulted too, there are no pics though between webs n burrows I had no chance lol.

Had one successful molt from 0.0.1 Eucratoscelus pachypus, 0.875" DLS. Here's a crappy pic, but trust me - it's marginally bigger, lol:
1000015087.jpg

Also had one unsuccessful molt. This little O. sp. viridis was only able to get it's chelicerae and fangs out by itself - I got the carapace and the abdomen off, but it was too late by that time. Boo.
