Came home from work and it's practically begging for a cricket! Knowing it just molted last night, I won't oblige just yet.

Oh my!!!! I’m so happy!!! My waiting after months is over! Clarice my Brachypelma Hamorii finally molted. She’s so pretty!!! Very fond of her since I saw her at petsmart last June! Went back for her in September and she made me start a collection again! Since having her she’s molted 3 times in a year she was so tiny! IMG_2612.jpeg

Snaptrap the Phormictopus cancerides "Bayahibe" had their long awaited molt. They're over 2in now so hopefully I'll be able to sex the molt this time!

Excited to see G ihrengi molted today. My T’s are in a darker corner of the room and it first appeared she was side molting. Upon closer inspection, I found her beautiful, freshly molted self in the darkest corner of her enclosure. Pics tomorrow as dark spider on dark substrate in dark corner..well, I can barely see her. Camouflage queen.

The molt fest continues. My Pamphobeteus sp. Machala sling molted today.
Sadly I missed it because I was busy researching scorpions here on Arachnoboards to decide if I should consider getting some to diversify my invert collection. I’ve decided to hold off for now.
Ironically, this means I was sitting less than a meter away from the sling when it molted and still missed it! 😆
Ah well. There is always next time. And in fairness to me, I only noticed it was in premolt five days ago so I was not expecting a molt so soon. I tell ya, these Pamphos will take prey well into premolt.
I look forward to seeing the size gain once it uncurls.

She's still relatively small. Maybe 3.5 inches or so. Definitely much slower growing than the other Poecilotheria species I have. She's very pretty though, and almost always out and about at night!
She is quite a beauty and I too have realized they are quite slower than other poecilotherias. I had attained a 1st instar p smithi months after I attained my 3/4 inch p. metallica sling. The P. Smithi is close to 2 inches and I feel like my p metallica is so tiny now compared to the P.smithi. My p metallica has only molted once since I got it back in December.

I've had the same experience with my metallica compared to my trio of ornatas and my regalis.

If anything my p metallica is the one I really wanna see grow. I think mine is in premolt though. Hopefully fingers crossed. I saw a bit of blue barely noticeable the last time it molted so I’m hoping with the next molt I’ll see more coloration.

So, since Friday I've had molts from:

0.0.1 Harpactira dictator (hoping the molt is in good enough shape to sex)

0.0.1 Phormingochilus sp. Sabah red (1.25" DLS)
0.0.1 Phormingochilus sp. Sabah blue (1.5" DLS)

0.0.1 Homoeomma chilensis (< 3/8" DLS - so small that I could not find the exuvia until I pulled out the magnifying glass...)

0.1 Tapinauchenius plumipes (3.5" DLS):

What size is she now? I love albiceps. I have a few coming this week. Can't wait!
Both are roughly an inch or so. Probably a little over.
I really like them. They're slow to grow but just plain neat. One of those species i waited to get until the price was right but always wanted. Now, i wish I'd have just spent a few extra bucks and had em sooner.
Are you getting slings?
