I found one of my female Ornithoctoninae sp. Hana on a sac yesterday.

That would be awesome if I had paired her with my MM. I hadn't, though, because he only matured in December and she was due for a molt 2 months ago...

Anyways, I pulled the sac today in hopes that she'll molt soon enough for him to do his duty. It's a cute little thing:

I can't believe she had all 25 of these little eggs inside her:

Better luck next time, I guess!

Winter is slowly coming to an end.

we have had some warmth and rain. The sun is up late, and the houses heating system isnt on as much.

i have an over 4ā€ affirmed mature female g pulchripes.

she has been sealed in her cork hide tunnel for months. Even my attemps at adding some moisture to lower sub levels, did not spark any changes.

until yesterday. About a week ago, i added some water to sub. Everything is always dry. The house is so bone dry i have nose bleeds. While i always have water bowls, and a moist corner, i decided to do my seasonal ā€œmake it rainā€ session. It wasnt a storm, just enough to moisten the bottom of enclosure.

last night, my g pulchripes had opened up her burrow, legs were sticking out fully. Just like i always loved to see during summer.

this morning, she was deeper in her hide, but legs still sightly out.

i hope my logic of weather changes is in the works. To me this is a great sign. I missed seeing a sign of life. Spring is here!

Well, here's 1300 prepped shipping vials for this year. I likely won't have an issue getting them filled lol, might even have to order more. A lot of new projects for me are finally lining up this year, so this should be quite challenging and engaging. So far:
  • Poecilotheria subfusca LL - Paired
  • Haplopelma doriae - Paired
  • Chilobrachys sp South Thailand Blue - Paired
  • Orphnaecus dichromatus - Paired
  • Avicularia hirschii - Paired
Still left to pair this week or next:
  • Aphonopelma sp Dragoons
  • Ornithoctoninae sp Vietnam Silver
  • Ornithoctoninae sp Ho Chi Minh
I also have the option to pair Phormingochilus sp Sabah Blue and Cilantica psychedelicus currently, however I will likely wait until the latter half of the year for those projects.
