How large is the B.vagans? Either that mouse is a monster size or the Vagans is pretty small?

cool.....

He wont come close to finishing that mouse , but that is definately a cool thing too see. Just be mindful of the odor after awhile. Do you feed pinkies at all? I use pinkies for all my large T's.....My blondi probablty is the only T that can take a fuzzy or a full size mouse. Great pics and goodluck with your mouse killer!

You weren't worried at all about a mouse that size harming your tarantula? That is a pretty big mouse (with big teeth) to give to a juvie tarantula. Or maybe I'm just overly protective! :D

If you had to observe a T while it attacks a mouse this size you would be able to see that the T is not in danger. The mouse barely even touches her legs while she sinks her fangs. If you look at the pics you will see that she captures the mouse from the head, and the mouse dies quickly. This is not a coincidence, I have seen her catch pinkies, and fuzzies always from the head, and always a quick death.

That may be so, but there is always a chance that the prey could get the upper hand.

Yes it's his T, yes he can do what he likes, doesn't stop his actions being reckless now does it?

Well...I was expecting these replies and I respect your opinion. Obviously, if I thought I was being reckless I wouldnt have done it, but I dont , so I did.

Here is a pic of her now

I wouldn't feed a mouse that size to any of my Ts, no matter how big my Ts are. I rarely feed mice to my T's, and when I do it's nothing bigger than a large hopper for safety.

Because it's only cool 'till the mouse bites off a leg or two...maybe lacerate the abdomen, and start feeding on your T...while you watch.

Now that's a show! :wall: Mice, half that size, are more than capable of defending themselves against a T, twice as big as that vagans. This type of feeding is for the enjoyment of the owner, and has nothing to do with the T's food needs...it's just a show, and not a great one at that.

Your animals, your choice...just don't expect any sympathy when your T finally does get torn up, and with mice that size it will happen sooner, before later. Somehow I doubt that would get posted though. ;)

If you want an awesome feeding, that keeps your T a lot more involved/ active...try feeder roaches. It's not uncommon for them to wrestle with a roach for the better part of an hour. Or don't.
