Found my 2nd female T. elenae with an eggsac:

Also found my 2nd female T. cupreus with an eggsac: The slings from the 1st female should be molting to 2nd instar soon.

Here's a female T. gigas with freshly emerged 1st instars. The original eggsac is discarded, then the female webs the 1st instars into a secondary type of eggsac. This is common with this genus.

Is that different than the T. Purpurea? I used to have a T. purpurea that was insanely fast and beautiful.

You sure it was the mother that did it? The sac I had a while back did that themselves in their coffee filter. They had been removed from the egg sac around 20 days, and when they molted they made their own web sac casing of sorts and stayed bunched together under the webbing till they got close to molting again then they dispersed some but not a lot and molted. I have seen this behavior in several other species as well.

Yes, the mother webs all over them, sometimes heavily. Can't comment on what they do in coffee filters though.

I recently got back from St. Lucia. I was there for 10 days searching mainly for Tapinachenius... and was successful :)

I don't have time for a full post in the Trip Reports right now, so am putting these pics here.

Some habitat shots:

Tapinauchenius sp. "St. Lucia" (I can't comment yet if it is or isn't the same as T. sanctivincenti)
