f subcaeruleus Bauer & Antonelli, 1997....................Ecuador [urn:lsid:amnh.org:spidersp:002487]
T. s. Bauer & Antonelli, 1997: 429, f. 1-3 (Df).
T. s. Peters, 2000b: 122, f. 359 (f).
T. s. Peters, 2003: 296, f. 1175 (f).
Tapinauchenius purpureus was rediscribed to Tapinauchenius violaceus.
Tapinauchenius subcaeruleus is a independent kind. Some years ago some one sold Tapinauchenius subcaeruleus slings without Firs Tree pattern on the abdomen. But as u can see this one got a lil pattern still on the abdomen. I also got still some slings so i hope i will get a mature male soon :)

All The Best,

Sven

Beautiful, some of them remind me of the Pslamopeous genus.
Not surprising at all... they're very closely related. Mainly separated on the presence or absence of maxillae lyra (Psalmopeous with, Tapinauchenius without)... although there are ceratin species which blur the distinction.

If you look closely, you can see at least 3 specimens on this frame. Don't know how many I have, I did not seperate the eggsac yet.

Take care

Hi Rick,

St. Vincent Island ;)
While that is true, the range may include other islands as well, depending on whether the Tapinauchenius found on nearby islands are the same species or not. I have opinions, but they are not supported well enough at this point so I'll withhold comment.

I was hoping to skip over to St. Vincent when I was Tap hunting in St. Lucia last year, but couldn't find the time.

Good luck raising them up Martin. If you ever have any die, I would very much like it if you would save them for me. I've seen deads in the british museum, but would appreciate having some here.

Eric,

The parents of those spiderlings were collected in St. Lucia... I was told they were T. sanctivincinti as well but do you have any thoughts since you have ben there? Maybe it is safer to label them T. sp. St. Lucia... or T. "sanctivincinti" St. Lucia... any suggestions?

So you just want dead ones? I would have thought you might want some live ones!:} Ah well... I am sure someone else might want them!:D

Take care

Martin
