I have welding gloves, they reach almost up to my elbows. Really thick leather and when i had my female blondi she nailed me and the fangs went right through it. I was lucky that only about 2 cenimeters of her fangs pierced my skin.Waryur said:i would think it depends on the T, i mean full grown T blondi would be differnt from an elegans
Yeah I use that, but with my burrowing species that's very hard, because of all the uneven landscape and rocks and stuff. It is just easier to nudge them on a glove. I don't think I'm in danger yet, because the biggest T I own right now is about 3 inches. I have enough time to find something else.Mattyb said:Stefan-V, try cupping the Ts with Tupperware containers to rehouse them.

close..kevlarCrimsonpanther said:Cevlar(check my spelling:8o )
i agree 100%....if you can't handle it without gloves should you really be trying to handle it anyway?Hedorah99 said:The only problem with wearing thick leather gloves is it desensitizes you as to how much pressure you are holding the T with. you may be delivering enough force to kill it without realizing that you are squeezing that hard.
really? only about 1/8" shy of an inch?Mattyb said:I was lucky that only about 2 cenimeters of her fangs pierced my skin.
the thing with Kevlar is that is good for high impact like bullets and grenade frag but things like stabs from a knife wont really stop it might slow the knife down and stop it from pentating too deep but it wont stop it completeyCrimsonpanther said:I would also llike to know there strength but in Pounds Per Sqaure inch
I used to work in Landscape Construction and we delt with these HUGE rocks called Amor Stone , anyways they gave us these gloves made of Cevlar(check my spelling:8o ) Ive have never got hammerd by a T wareing these gloves but i assume cevlar could stop the fangs no matter the size..........i hope
But they work wonderds with aggresive T's and keep me safe ! But all in all i hardly use them !
Thoth said:It depends on how tight the weave on the kevlar but in general kevlar is good in protecting against cuts and slash type injurys but is no good against punctures. If you realy want puncture proof gloves here are what police us to protect against junkie syringes when frisking.
