i would think it depends on the T, i mean full grown T blondi would be differnt from an elegans

I have welding gloves, they reach almost up to my elbows. Really thick leather and when i had my female blondi she nailed me and the fangs went right through it. I was lucky that only about 2 cenimeters of her fangs pierced my skin.

Stefan-V, try cupping the Ts with tupperware containers to rehouse them.

I would also llike to know there strength but in Pounds Per Sqaure inch
I used to work in Landscape Construction and we delt with these HUGE rocks called Amor Stone , anyways they gave us these gloves made of Cevlar(check my spelling:8o ) Ive have never got hammerd by a T wareing these gloves but i assume cevlar could stop the fangs no matter the size..........i hope
But they work wonderds with aggresive T's and keep me safe ! But all in all i hardly use them !

Yeah I use that, but with my burrowing species that's very hard, because of all the uneven landscape and rocks and stuff. It is just easier to nudge them on a glove. I don't think I'm in danger yet, because the biggest T I own right now is about 3 inches. I have enough time to find something else.
So, Matty, what do you use with your T. blondi now?

Gortex is just an insulator. Kevlar won't stop a T's fangs from penetrating. Kevlar is more of an impact absorber. It'll stop bullets without much trouble, but a blowgun dart goes right through it. I'd imagine a T's fangs would pierce kevlar the same way.

The only problem with wearing thick leather gloves is it desensitizes you as to how much pressure you are holding the T with. you may be delivering enough force to kill it without realizing that you are squeezing that hard.

i agree 100%....if you can't handle it without gloves should you really be trying to handle it anyway?

my girlfriend used to put like 5 socks on her hand hahaha, so funny.

kevlar is, if i remember correctly, made up of finely spun silk web from spiders. i wouldnt doubt a pair of spiders fangs could easily pierce through it.

nah kevlar is a type of fiber.but there are currently developing body armour that is made of spider-silk.
i think if u were wearing some kinda of very heavy gloves it could damage the t's fangs when it bit u.possibly even breaking them off.could be better than gettin a sderious bite but i wouldnt want to take that risk.another factor to consider is that alot of t's are very fast;so gettin them to stay on that glove for a long time might be tricky.next thing u know it the thing could timewarp onto your face lol

the thing with Kevlar is that is good for high impact like bullets and grenade frag but things like stabs from a knife wont really stop it might slow the knife down and stop it from pentating too deep but it wont stop it completey

It depends on how tight the weave on the kevlar but in general kevlar is good in protecting against cuts and slash type injurys but is no good against punctures. If you realy want puncture proof gloves here are what police us to protect against junkie syringes when frisking.

(not cheap though)

Now if i remeber correctly Kevlar is something DuPont produces other companys may but i only know of DuPont making Kevlar. I may be just stupid but I was told Kevlar is very similar to the no stick coating on a pan so is it some weird soft aloy or plastic :? ??? and about the gloves i use leather gloves but do not cup or close my hands while handling and the only reason I wear them is for the T's Safety this is because I tremble horrindously when I hold her bear handed ( I'm Not afraid of being bit :embarrassed: ) I'm afraid of droping her.

That Turtle skinis interesting stuff, but i wonder how well it would hold up under the striking power of a large T like a Blondi??
