That amazonica is sooo friggen cute. Must... resist..... must put wallet back in..... pocket...... The wife wants a purpurea, and I think I'll order a GBB at the same time. Gotta wait for the next paycheck, and resist adding an amazonica! The locally owned LPS has a HUGE amazonica for sale, I love the babies though.

LOL! Yeah, I hear ya man! A. purpureas are really great looking T's, but so far I've to say each of those 3 slings I got is -very- shy and they seem to hate light pretty much as certain Pocies do. GBB's are really neat, if I saw that correctly my small sling "Spot" is actually on his back molting right now ;)

A. amazonica is the worst regarding food from the sling that I have. Seriously. They don't eat much, they never seem to be interested actually, though I keep them exactly like my other Avic slings. I'm just hoping these will turn out to be mellow once older, since they seem to be so currently (but then again - most slings are compared to their adult counterparts anyways) but very skittish.

Just took some nice shots of "Phaedra" my 4" P. irminia girl since she was roaming aorund in her enclosure

Wow, so beautiful!
Holy cow! That B. auratum is soooo pretty!
Kamala is stunning. What a beautiful T.
Oh wow beautiful auratum, the red colouration is unbelievable!!
Thanks, guys! She's certainly one of my most beautiful T's so far! Very skittish and a hair-kicker, though.

nice Brachy jan. Get better soon.
Thanks, man. Still fighting with it... :(

Just returned from hospital today and wanted to get the feeding over with quickly, as obviously my lung is somewhat damaged due to this god damn flu I caught. Hence, I didn't really want to get haired on top of it all.
Here's the (short) feeding vid hence:

And here's an even shorter vid of the freshly molted A. geniculata and some pictures.

Pics of the A. geniculata (she's about 2,5" DLS now I think)

Thanks, man! Just check my profile to see what I have and what's inbound. I'll keep that up-to-date usually! ;)

Wow I love that deep black on the auratum's legs :)
She looks amazing in person! Her legs are really velvet black right now and she's out at daytime while retreating to her burrow at night. Really interesting.

Yep! Sure does! Congratz on your girl molting! Pictures? ;)

Thanks, bud! Regarding the comparison pics, I was lucky enough that she sat nearly in the exact same spot when I took them. But that way you really see the differences in a great way!

Still home sick, feeling a bit better by now due to the antibiotics doing their thing finally and hence I thought I'd post some news up here.

First off, I'm currently dealing with a god-damn mite infestation on both of my versis! Frustrating, to say the least! Obviously, the last batch of feeder crickets carried those along *sigh*. Anyways, I've since rehoused ALL of my slings with fresh substrate, washed out all the enclosures and threw all and any decor in the thrash. Those two with mites have been seperated to another room and one of them just molted about an hour ago. Removed the molt instantly and hopefully that one will be nearly clear of mites now (I doubt it, though). If nothing else works, I'll probably have to knock them out with CO² and use alcohol and tip those damn things of them...not really what I want having to do considering their small size (4th / 5th instar). Anyways, all other spiders show no signs of this and I really hope it'll stay that way. Wish me luck!

Here are a couple pics of my two infested versis, for those interested how mites look on T's for example:

Poor little guys..

This one just molted and hopefully will have only very few or even none left:

Now for some more good news! Obviously some T's molted on me while I was at the hospital over the last weekend:

P. cambridgei (couldn't get a better pic so far - she's a beast now though! Shoots out of her corkbark whenever I even walk past her jar and threatens...:D)
P1010377.JPG

Homoeomma spec. "blue"
P1010387.JPG

Seriously starting to show her blue coloration now at approx 2.25 - 2,5" DLS
P1010389.JPG

And a bonus shot of my A. diversipes sling (didn't molt or anything, just a good shot I think)
P1010386.JPG

Last, but not least, I can now announce that all 3 of my A. purpureas have successfully molted into 4th instars, with the last of the batch molted just yesterday. Awesome! Whenever I can take some new pics, I'll do an up them here.

Thanks, I hope they'll both make it. One has molted and SEEMS to be clean now (took the molt out instantly and rehoused it a day later very carefully again), the other one I just keep dry for now and hope they'll get off the specimen. I put a very small waterdish in the enclosure, don't mist at all anymore currently and keep her a bit cooler which I hope will do the trick soon. The A. geniculata gained about 0,5-0.75" in size, not too much but still visibly bigger than before.

Some pictures of my A. purpurea 4th instar spiderlings:
